France: Overseas Chinese Communities Celebrate Chinese Spring Festival and Send Best Wishes to Falun Gong Practitioners Imprisoned in China (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) According the Central News Agency's report on January 27, 2003, many overseas Chinese communities in France held activities in advance to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival. While wishing each other good fortune and a happy new year, they constantly remembered Falun Gong practitioners and pro-democratic people being imprisoned in China, and sent their sincere wishes to them.

It is reported that pro-democratic movement people and Friends of Falun Gong Association held a party to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival at the Paris Overseas Chinese Culture and Education Center. They also initiated a "Yellow Ribbon" campaign. Each attending guest, including people from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, would be given a yellow ribbon. It symbolized that besides enjoying the celebration, they also expressed their concerns and best wishes to those pro-democratic movement people who are suffering persecution and Falun Gong practitioners who have been imprisoned for their belief in China. People from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan gave their respective performances on stage. The performances included Chinese and Western musical instruments performances, martial arts performances, singing and dancing. The performances were quite splendid and appealing. The sponsors also provided Chinese style food and beverages. Over 200 guests wished each other a Happy New Year. They also wished well to China's extension of reform and wished China becomes a country that truly practices democracy, freedom, rule with law and a fair distribution of wealth.
