to incomplete statistics, about 1500 practitioners in the Shenyang Area in Liaoning Province have
been the victims of mass arrests without legal procedures. Other areas in the province are planning
to do the same thing. 2. [Laishui county, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Yan Hequan Unlawfully Sentenced Dafa practitioner Yan Hequan from Longquan Village, Shiting Town, Laishui County, Hebei Province
was illegally sentenced to five years in the autumn of 2001. Dafa practitioner Cao Zi, a high school
student from Laishui County was illegally detained in Xushui. His innocent father has been sentenced
to 13 years. 3. [Liaoning Province] Partial List of Practitioners Who Were Illegally Sentenced and Sent to
Dabei Jail Shenyang: Hu Guoping, Yan Haizhi, Yan Hongwei, Zhao Yuanji, Meng Xianguang, Chen Xiu Some of them have been released because their term ended. 4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Chaoyanggou Labor Camp Persecutes Dafa Practitioner Liu
Boyang Dafa practitioner Liu Boyang is being detained with the No.2 Team in Chaoyanggou Labor Camp.
Because he would not renounce his belief in Dafa he was subjected to a variety of torture aimed at
forcing him to renounce his belief. In December 2002, police adopted the method of preventing him
from sleeping, monitoring him 24 hours a day and subjecting him to brainwashing. 5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Liu Wei Is Not Swayed by Persecution Liu Wei, a Dafa practitioner from Shenyang City, formerly was a policeman who is now being
detained in the Zaohua Jail in Shenyang for practicing Falun Gong. He obtained Dafa in 1995. In
1999, after the Jiang Regime started to persecute Dafa, Liu Wei went to Beijing to appeal twice and
was denied his constitutional right to appeal and sent to a labor camp without trial for a period of
one year. During that period he broke down under the high pressure and coercive measures to force
him to renounce his belief After being released from the labor camp, he became clear minded and
realized his mistake, renewed his belief in Dafa and continued to participate in the Fa-rectification.
On May 23, 2001, he was reported by others, arrested and detained in the Dongling Detention Center.
During this period, he did not accept fabricated charges and remained diligent in his belief in Dafa.
As a result, the authorities detained him in a small cell, with handcuffs and shackles, and tortured
him during the course of one and half years. He became extremely weak with edema all over the body,
experienced difficulty walking, found his vision to be failing and became very thin compared to his
previous 90 kilograms. Recently, the Dongling Law Court unconstitutionally sentenced him to five
years in jail. He appealed but the Shenyang Middle Level Law Court refused to accept his appeal. In
order to resist the persecution, Liu Wei went on a hunger strike. Now, he is detained in the
Dongling Jail. There are dozens of Dafa practitioners in this jail. They all have a firm belief in
Dafa. 6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Zhou Yongping Becomes Blind Due to Persecution Dafa practitioner Zhou Yongping was detained in the Heizuizi Labor Camp, in Changchun for one
year. He was tortured which resulted in him becoming blind and was then released. Now his
whereabouts are unknown. 7. [China] Little Zhao Continues to Assert Her Right to Practice Dafa Despite Severe Torture Dafa practitioner Little Zhao (female) is responsible for material that contain the facts
about the persecution of Dafa, in a city of the northeast. In May 2002 the local material site was
damaged and she was arrested. Police in Luyuan Police Station were ordered to find out where the
material storehouse was located. They tortured Xiao Zhao by piercing her ten fingers through with
pushpins. However, she endured their torture. Later that night, she left the labor camp using her
righteous thoughts and walked out. In July 2002 Little Zhao was arrested again. Police utilized a variety of torture
including electrical shocks to her nipples, hanging her up, burning her palms, squeezing her toes
using pliers, but she never compromised. She held firm to: "Just by staying unaffected, you
will be able to handle all situations." ("Lecture on the Fa at the U.S. Midwest
Conference") The Police found no way to force her to renounce her belief. Twenty days later, the police
released her due to her poor physical condition because they did not want to accept responsibility
for their crimes should she die as a result of the torture she received in the labor camp. 8. [Yichang, Hubei province] Dafa Practitioner Zheng Dejun Arrested Again Dafa practitioner Zheng Dejun from Yichang, Hubei Province was sent to the Shayang Labor Camp for
a term of 3 years without trial, after July 20, 1999. After the term was fulfilled, his term was
arbitrarily extended for ten more days because of 16th Party Congress. Two months after
being released, he was arrested again and taken from his home. 9. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Police Secretly Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioner Li
Shujun Late breaking news: Police in Shandong Province secretly arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Li
Shujun from Jinan City, Shandong Province around August or September of 2002. His whereabouts are
still unknown. (Li Shujun was a student at the China Pharmaceutical University. After graduation, he
worked at the Qilu Pharmaceutical Company in Shandong Province.) 10. [Enping City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Material Site Destroyed by Police On April 26, 2002, a Falun Dafa material site containing materials that clarify the truth of
Falun Dafa was destroyed. When Falun Dafa practitioner Li Yibin went to the Internet cafe, the
police followed him to the material site and arrested him. It is said that Li Yibin was secretly
sentenced to 10 years in prison. On the same day, three other practitioners were also arrested, one
of them escaped with righteous thoughts. The other two practitioners were illegally sentenced to 2
years of forced labor. Their physical examinations showed that their health was poor, so they were
released to seek medical treatment. Another practitioner Liang Liqiong (female) was arrested by the
police while clarifying the truth to people several days before the 16th Party Congress. She was
illegally sentenced to 2 years of forced labor and sent to the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp in
Guangdong Province. On every festive occasion and sensitive date, police from the "610 Office" [an
agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of
administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] in Enping City go to
practitioners' homes and work units to continuously harass them. Police also monitored Falun Dafa
practitioners' actions and home telephones 24 hours a day. They put local Falun Dafa practitioners
under house arrest and frequently detain them without legal procedure for over one week before
releasing them. They often persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners this way and cause practitioners'
family members great amounts of stress and worry. People in charge of the "610 Office" in Enping City: Feng Chao, Cen Jiayong 11. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Ma Yongkang and Zhang Caiqin
Arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Ma Yongkang from the Xinghuo Machine Tool Company was arrested for
clarifying the truth to the Gansu Provincial Government. In November 2000, he was sent to the
Ping'antai Forced Labor Camp in Lanzhou City for 1 year of forced labor. After he was released, he
lost his job. While Ma Yongkang was working in Lanzhou City, he was again illegally and forcibly
arrested by the police in Lanzhou City on January 12, 2003. Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Caiqin (female) from Gangu, Tianshui City was sent to a forced
labor camp in Lanzhou City on January 18, 2003 and has been persecuted for about half a month. 12. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners in Mengzhou City Detention Center
Firmly Resist the Persecution Falun Dafa practitioners who are illegally detained in Mengzhou City Dentention Center firmly
resist the persecution. They refuse to do the slave labor, or be put "on duty." To create
a righteous environment in the camp they have had to resort to shouting, "Falun Dafa is
good," practicing the exercises and sending forth righteous thoughts every day. The police
became very anxious due to being unable to get them to give up their belief and transferred three
determined female Falun Dafa practitioners: Wang Yuhua, Yao Guijiao and Qian Shanglan to detention
centers in other counties and cities. For a period of time, the guards did not dare to close the
door of their cell and always asked the prisoners in the cell to close the door. These three Falun
Dafa practitioners firmly believe in Master, in Dafa, and refused to comply with the evil, and were
released from the evil den before December 20. 13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Neighborhood Committees Send People to Illegally Monitor
Falun Dafa Practitioners In recent days, all of the neighborhood committees in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province sent
people to Falun Dafa practitioners' homes to illegally monitor the practitioners. They check to see
whether the practitioners are at home or if practitioners are practicing Falun Gong in their homes. 14. [Sanshui City, Guangdong Province] Sanshui Forced Labor Camp Uses Violence to Force Falun
Dafa Practitioners to Renounce their Belief In order to achieve a so-called "transformation quota," Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in
Guangdong Province has taken measures against determined Falun Dafa practitioners since late
December 2002. The guards covered the eyes of 60 determined male Falun Dafa practitioners, brought
them to prepared secret rooms and beat them cruelly. Most of the practitioners' faces, hands, feet
and bodies were seriously injured, some were barely breathing. Among them, only one person was
released on bail to seek medical treatment, some people were forcibly committed to the mental
hospital for further torture although they were completely mentally healthy. During that time,
family members were not allowed to visit them. The means used to force female Falun Dafa
practitioners to give up their belief are even crueler. 15. [China] Confession of the Lawless "610" Officials Recently, while I was chatting with a good friend who works for the government, he exposed the
crimes of the lawless "610" officials. I asked him, "What are you doing right
now?" He said, "After the 16th People's Congress, all the departments are changing their leaders,
the people in the departments are all making full use of their abilities to buy official positions!
Who doesn't want to get a lucrative post?" "Which are the lucrative posts?" I asked. "There are many lucrative posts; the positions in charge of suppressing Falun Gong are
lucrative posts. The higher authorities generously allocate funds to them and they also concoct
various pretexts to extort money. They live in hotels and indulge in whatever they desire every day.
They can take credit and earn awards with little achievement. It is really both winning a promotion
and getting rich. They shamelessly say, "Suppressing Falun Gong creates so many employment
opportunities for people like us!" |
