An Eyewitness Account of the Torture in Zhejiang Province's Shiliping Forced Labor Camp By Chen Qiong
October 29, 2002 (Clearwisdom.net) The staff of the Shiliping Forced Labor Camp in Zhejiang Province has
tortured all Falun Gong practitioners in an attempt to coerce them into giving
up their faith, regardless of whether they were elderly or young, or whether
the conditions were bitterly cold or blazing hot. There were as many as a few
hundred people tortured. The main leaders in Shiliping Forced Labor Camp in charge of persecuting
Falun Gong practitioners are Luo Aimin and Xue Yongxing. Some of the criminals
who have collaborated with the staff to beat practitioners are Hu Jianhong,
Wang Zongliang, and Li Xinqi. They tied Falun Gong practitioners' arms and
legs to chairs and stripped off their clothes in the cold weather. The
practitioners were only given a bite of food and a sip of water each day. They
were not allowed to go to the bathroom and were forced to relieve themselves
where they stood. They were also denied sleep. The practitioners suffered
severely from cold, hunger, thirst, the constant stench, and from numbness in
their limbs. Their legs and feet first swelled up, became infected, and then
became immobilized. They were tortured to the point of having a mental
breakdown and were physically on the verge of death. The abuses they had to
endure were extremely cruel. At the same time, they were forced to listen to
lies slandering Falun Gong. The length of this torture method lasted any where
from one week to over twenty days. They were not untied until they were
disabled or on the verge of death. There was a 70-year-old practitioner from Jinhua Area, Zhejiang Province in
the same labor camp who was force-fed and injected with unidentified drugs.
Another Falun Gong practitioner surnamed Li from Hangzhou City did not
cooperate with them and was injected with drugs used for mental patients. Some
other practitioners who went on hunger strikes were brutally forced fed. The
labor camp detainees involved in torturing practitioners were ordered to keep
word of the vicious police officers' actions from leaving the labor camp. One
detainee provided a practitioner with a bottle in which to relieve himself.
When it was discovered by the police, the detainee was immediately punished by
being locked up in isolation. We hope the international community will pay close attention to the serious
human rights violations in this labor camp and do everything possible to stop
them. Posting date: 2/11/2003 |
