Practitioner Chen Ruichang, Former Deputy Chief of the Editor-in-Chief's Office at Guangdong Province Television Station, Is Released After A Global Rescue Effort
(Clearwisdom.net) With the collective efforts of the Global Mission to
Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners and all Dafa practitioners around
the world, Dafa practitioner Chen Ruichang in China, the former Deputy Chief
of the Editor-in-Chief's Office at Guangdong Province TV Station, was released
on January 15, 2003 after being illegally detained for two years. He is now
back at work in his former workplace. Chen Ruichang is an elder brother of
Australian citizen Richard Chen.
During the rescue process, the labor camp (where he was detained) and
Guangdong Province TV Station received many emails and phone calls from all
over the world, and the voice of justice greatly shocked the whole TV station.
Australian local community newspapers and Chinese language media reported on
this case of persecution. Some people from Guangdong Province read about the
illegal detention of Chen Ruichang and the global rescue campaign while
visiting the US. They took the news back home in Guangdong Province and told
local people that this case had been exposed around the world.
Federal MP Ross Cameron is the representative of the district where Richard
Chen lives. MP Cameron passed Richard Chen's appeal letter straight to
Australia's Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Department of Foreign Affairs
expressed that they would contact the concerned departments in China regarding
Chen Ruichang's case.
