Ms. Wan Xiaohui, 47 years old, is a practitioner from Malanzi / Shahekou District of Dalian City. On October 9, 2002, on her way home from the supermarket, policemen from the Malanzi Police Station kidnapped her. On November 1 she was sent to Dalian City's Forced Labor Camp. As Ms. Wan didn't cooperate, the policemen instructed prisoners to whip her upper body and the inner side of her thigh with plastic bottles full of water. They even sprayed chili powder in her vaginal area. They opened all the windows, took off all her outer wear, left her clad only her underclothes and had her shackled in a solitary confinement, barefoot, for half a month. After she was released from the solitary confinement, she was forced to do manual labor, such as picking five sacks of soybeans everyday. Wan Xiaohui was tortured so severely that she couldn't lie down to sleep but had to sit. Her chest was so swollen from beatings that she couldn't even breathe. She went to see a prison doctor but was told that it's nothing, and that she should go back to work.
