Dear Friends,
I regret that I am unable to join you in voicing my deep concern for the
plight of the family of Yuzhi Wang in China.
The Chinese government and authorities continue to ruthlessly suppress
freedom of religion and freedom of association in China, including brutal
treatment of Falun Gong adherents and their families.
I have called on Foreign Minister Bill Graham to again raise these concerns
at the upcoming session of the UN Human Rights Commission, and directly with
the Chinese government. I have also raised the specific case of the family
of Yuzhi Wang and requested him to urgently make representations on their
behalf.
All persecution and harassment of the peaceful Falun Gong practitioners must
end.
