A Chinese Police Officer Speaks Out
(Clearwisdom.net) I used to be a Public Security officer in a certain city in China. One
afternoon, a policeman under my jurisdiction bumped into me and invited me to join him in the
surveillance of a building. The local Political Security Branch had called, asking him to stake out
an office where a Falun Gong practitioner had been working. After almost half an hour, the Political
Security Branch personnel arrived and mentioned that they had already arrested the practitioner. We
began a search of the whole office inch by inch. I myself found two big bags of Falun Dafa books and
flyers. (Before this case, I had known little about Falun Gong. All I knew was that it had been
forbidden.) I picked up a copy of the book Zhuan Falun and flipped through it, but I didn't
pay too much attention to it. We put together all the books that we found, took pictures, totaled
the counts, and then confiscated the books, flyers, computer, typewriter, and the copy machine. Almost two months after that event, I was myself detained in a detention center for a minor
offence which usually would not lead to detention. It was very strange for such harsh punishment to
be applied to me as a public security agent, causing great surprise to my relatives and friends.
Even more unexpectedly, while I was in the detention center I met the Falun Gong practitioner whose
office I had ransacked. He did not recognize me, but I knew him because I had seen his photo, and I
also know his full name. So I quietly observed every move and word that he made but found his
behavior to be excellent. I never told him about that fact that I had searched his office. Later he was transferred to another cell and a second practitioner arrived in his place. Through
time I realized that it would be beneficial to practice Falun Gong. The second practitioner told me
many things about Falun Dafa and that was helpful for my understanding. Meanwhile, I self-reflected
and wished to become a good person according to the standard of "Truthfulness -- Compassion
-- Tolerance" and to be strict with myself and get rid of my attachments. It's easier said
than done, but genuine practitioners have been doing it all along. So those who are biased or
ignorant must not arbitrarily comment about Falun Gong. The more I tried to follow the standard of
"Truthfulness -- Compassion -- Tolerance", the more I found out how dirty my heart was,
and the more I appreciated the purity of the practitioners. Really, I am telling you the truth that
"Falun Dafa is good!" even if I am now not a practitioner yet. I told the second
practitioner of the misdeed I had done against Falun Gong. He said that I must have a predestined
relationship with Falun Dafa. Teacher would not forget any of those who should cultivate Falun Dafa,
so I would be able to read Zhuan Falun after my release from jail. Wonderful things happened after I was released from the detention center, proving that the second
practitioner was right in what he said, yet I still don't think I am entitled to be called a
practitioner. The 2nd practitioner was sentenced to serve a 4-year term in jail, though
he was not allowed to speak in court to defend himself. I know that inside the jail if he would
simply have written a (faked) guarantee to abandon Falun Gong, he would have been set free right
away. But he would not do it and stuck firmly to his belief in his cultivation practice. This note may not be written well, but what I am saying is all true. Later on, if I can get
access to the Internet again, I will continue to write about my experiences and thoughts. To those
who intend to ill-treat Falun Dafa, please forsake your bad intentions! I plead from the bottom of
my heart for you to be clear-headed!
