Falun Dafa Practitioner Jiao Mingfeng Tortured to Paralysis and Mental Collapse in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Jiao Mingfeng, male, 28 years old, from Yushu City, Jilin Province is an honest and kind person. His conduct has won his boss' admiration and commendation, who said that Falun Dafa practitioners are all good people.

After July 20, 1999, when the Jiang regime started to persecute Falun Dafa, Mr. Jiao went to Beijing to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to the government. He was arrested, beaten up, detained and eventually sent to Weizigou Forced Labor Camp for one year, where he was tortured. When he was released in the summer of 2000, he had scabies all over him and had lost considerable weight. As he continued to practice the exercises, he recovered rapidly. His previous employer went to his home to invite him back to work.

In April 2002, after talking to people about Falun Dafa, someone reported him and he was arrested. He was then tortured and beaten brutally at the Yushu Public Security Bureau. The police tried to force him to tell them where the Falun Dafa materials and VCD came from, but to no avail. He was sentenced to two years in No. 1 Brigade of Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, Changchun City, Jilin province. Police there use electronic batons, wooden clubs, iron pipes, and a pick as well as "Tying the Ropes" [The police tie up the practitioner with a thin rope, circle the rope around his neck, and tie his hands behind his back. Then the police use all the force they can muster to tighten the rope. The rope becomes tighter and tighter around the body of the practitioner, and makes it more and more difficult for him to breathe. The pain is so intense that the practitioner sometimes loses control of his bladder. There are instances when the rope was tightened enough to break a practitioner's arm.], burning with cigarettes, corporal punishment, and hard labor to torture practitioners. They also incite criminal inmates to beat up the practitioners using reduced terms as incentives (The criminals get 20 days off their terms for every practitioner they manage to "reform").

Jiao Mingfeng refused to sign a "Letter of Reformation" and remained firm in his belief. As a result of the torture, he suffered a mental collapse. His hands twitch and one eye bulges. He has great difficulty speaking, and is losing the ability to look after himself. In spite of all this, the police refuse to release him. They even demanded money from his family, saying that if the money was not paid they wouldn't care if Jiao died.
