Philadelphia: Falun Dafa Practitioners Participate in a Chinese New Year Celebration at Temple University (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At noon on February 11, 2003, Temple University students held a Chinese New Year Celebration at the Student Center. The performances were full of rich characteristics of different nationalities, including Vietnam folk dance, Korean hammer dance and Chinese colorful ribbon dance performances. Dafa practitioners in the Philadelphia area were also invited to participate in the celebration. They displayed goodness of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" to the university faculty staff and students, told them the truth about the brutal persecution against Falun Dafa in China, and gathered signatures for rescuing Charles Li.

At 11:00 a.m., associations of different countries and nationalities in Asia set up their stands at the Student Center. Our Falun Dafa stand was located at the entrance, next to the main gate. People coming in and out could easily see our display boards and exercise instruction video. Six Dafa practitioners worked together to clarify the truth, collect signatures and introduce Falun Dafa. A five-year-old practitioner was busy handing out flyers to visitors.

At 2:00 p.m., the ceremony master invited us to demonstrate Falun Dafa exercises on the main stage. Two of us demonstrated the standing exercises, two young practitioners performed the sitting meditation, and one practitioner introduced the exercise movements to the audience. Young university students showed great interest in the graceful and gentle exercises, and especially gave high praise for the five-year-old practitioner and gave her warm applause.

Many university students and faculty staff who learned about the persecution of Falun Gong came up to our stand to sign their names for rescuing Charles Li. There was a story during the signature collection. A student returned to our stand after signing his name and said he used a pseudonym and did not leave his address just now because he was afraid of unnecessary disturbance. After reading Dafa truth-clarifying information, he could not tolerate what he just did. He said he should be "truthful," so he returned and seriously wrote down his true name. He also told us that as a descent of Jews, he had a deep impression of the persecution suffered by Jews and he admired the courage shown by Falun Dafa cultivators in China while facing the brutal persecution.

The activity was very successful. We understand that before the tremendous force of Fa-rectification arrives in the human world, many sentient beings are still waiting for us to save them. Many people want to learn more about Falun Gong, and want to practice it. In addition, if time and conditions permit, we suggest practitioners in other places consider participating in such activities, as they have good effect on clarifying the truth and introducing Dafa to the public.
