Minghui School Students Write to President Bush

Dear Mister President,

We are Falun Gong practitioners from Minghui School in Columbus, Ohio. Falun Gong is a practice that teaches how to be polite, not to steal, to be truthful and to persevere in any taunts, or beatings from bullies. We are very peaceful, and won't hurt anything or anybody.

We have a friend, Charles Li, an American citizen who went to China for a visit. He was detained by the police because he practices Falun Gong. He is held in jail without a trial. He has been in jail for a while now. We want to help him. However, since China is not a democratic country, and if we went back to China and tried, they would detain us too. This is why we are writing to you to help Charles Li out of China's jail and into his rightful home.

America is a great country because she is founded on the basis of democracy and freedom. Our teachers always tell us that the president of America represents justice and protects human rights in the world. We know that you have hundreds of documents to sign, and issues to handle daily, however, since almost six hundred Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death in China's labor camps and jails, we are afraid that the similar tragedy will happen to Charles Li, an American citizen. We believe that your help is very important at present in the rescue of Falun Gong practitioners out of the illegal imprisonment in China. Therefore, we will ask you again, please help our friend! We thank you greatly for your help.
