At the end of October 2002, some practitioners from Jiaonan City of Shandong Province went to a small town to validate the Fa. Among them, thirteen practitioners were illegally arrested. Practitioner Mr. Wang Famao, from Butou Village, Taolin Town that is located in the mountain area in southern Zhucheng City, was arrested at home. The arrest happened during the daytime. Dozens of policemen seized Wang Famao, knocked him onto the wall and beat him badly. They also took away Wang Famao's personal property, including cell phone, motorcycle, VCD machine and recorder, etc. Wang's family went to the police office four times and did not get a chance to see him in person.

Among the thirteen practitioners who were detained, four of them have already been sentenced to forced labor; one of them was sent to Qingdao City, Shandong Province. The whereabouts of rest of them are unknown.

Practitioner Yu Lian was arrested in November 2000. Several policemen arrested him from his office in Shenzhen City's Xiongying Hall Construction Preparation Office. His office was ransacked. At his house, the policemen confiscated Dafa related materials and 80,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban areas of China; in rural areas it is 200], which was gathered from fellow practitioners to make truth-clarifying materials. In April 2002, he was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment in Futian District's Court. After Yu Lian was detained at Futian District's Detention Center over two years, he was sent to Guangdong Province's Sihui Forced Labor Prison for further persecution. Recently, Yu Lian has been tortured to the point of being skin and bones.

Prior to the 16^th National Party Congress last year, police in Jiaozuo City arrested Dafa practitioners Li Honglin and Mr. Li Xiaojun. Another practitioner, Ms. Wang Juan, was sentenced to two years and two month of forced labor.

Prior to the 16^th National Party Congress, practitioners Mr. Chen Yanbin, Mr. Pang Yinjing and Mr. Liu Dongyue from Yali Town were illegally sentenced to forced labor. They are now held at Handan City's Forced Labor Camp. Practitioner Chang Shu'ai is detained at Shijiazhuang City's Forced Labor Camp. Practitioners Ms. Wang Meilan, She Xiang and Lu Jun, a couple, have been secretly detained for over nine months. Their family members don't know their whereabouts. Practitioner Mr. Guo Degui has been held secretly for over three months.

Currently, Harbin City's Women Prison is holding nearly 400 Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners are forced to do very heavy labor everyday but are only allowed four hours' sleep per day. There is no exception for weak practitioners. Everyday the Education Section forces Falun Gong practitioners to watch and listen to Dafa-slandering videos and audios. They even circulate fabricated articles allegedly written by Mr. Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Gong, in order to mislead practitioners. Practitioners who refused to give up their beliefs were punished physically and tortured with excruciating means.

In 2002, after Wang Guangzhong, a teacher from Nanyang City's No.9 Middle School, was brainwashed at the Xuchang City's Forced Labor Camp, he couldn't tell right from wrong. He helped corrupt personnel to do evil and collaborated with the "610 Office" [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] to set up a brainwashing class in the No.9 Middle School. He also searched everywhere for Dafa material centers.

* Collaborators are former Falun Gong practitioners who have embraced the evil path and are aiding and abetting the authorities that persecute Falun Gong and its practitioners.
