USA: A Citizen Writes to Senator Feinstein Concerning Charles Li's Detention in China
(Clearwisdom.net) Senator Feinstein, I work in the electronics industry and travel quite frequently around the world.
The safety of US citizens while abroad is very important to me. I want to be safe when I am out of
the USA and be confident in the knowledge that my government will help me. Senator Feinstein, as a member of the Judiciary committee I want you to
communicate to the committee the strong need for the American government to go to the aid of Mr. Li.
No one should be thrown in jail for his or her religion. While not all countries have freedom of
religion, as we do in the USA, all American citizens should be safe to travel without worry that we
will be thrown in jail for our religious beliefs. I read in the San Jose Mercury earlier this week that Mr. Li was visiting his
family for the Lunar New Year celebrations and not involved with any protests. Strong actions are
required from our government to protect him. I have been an active voter since I was 18 years old, even in the small
elections. I have never written to my representatives before always choosing to vote to express my
views but this is a time sensitive issue that needs to be addressed right away. Please work to free Mr. Li. Regards, Maria Laughlin
