Letter from a Citizen to a US Ambassador Concerning Charles Li's Detention in China

Dear Excellency!

With great concern I have got to know the imprisonment of

Dr Charles Li,

an US Citizen, who was detained after arriving at the Guangzhou Airport on January 22 this year. He is facing a sentence up to 15 years in a Chinese prison on dubious charges and is only allowed 30 minutes per month of contact with the US Embassy.

Dr Li has done nothing wrong, he is - like me - someone who practices an cultivation way that is based on the three principles of "Truthfulness - Compassion and Tolerance" named Falun Dafa, a practice that is highly welcomed around the world and did receive a lot of recommendations especially in the US. Even the US Senate passed a resolution condemning the persecution of Falun Dafa in China last year.

I respect the United States as a nation with great and upright opinions in the fields of human rights and therefore my hopes concerning the immediate release of Dr Li lies in the great abilities of your nation.
