New Year's Greeting to a Mother in Jail from a Daughter Forced to Leave Home Because of the Persecution

Dear Mom:

Happy New Year, from your daughter who has been forced to leave home.

It has been over two years since we last saw each other. During this time, you've spent the past three Chinese New Years in prison or labor camp. I learned that you were arrested over New Year's Eve in 2001. In the detention center, you were brutally tortured by prison officials and guards and have suffered severe physical torment. By practicing Falun Dafa, you'd restored your health. But because of the vicious persecution your hair has turned gray and your teeth have fallen out. A person who only wants to be a good person has been brutally tortured, instead! How could this happen?

Mother, three generations in our family practice Falun Dafa. Even though we have not seen our respected Teacher or listened to his lectures in person, we feel so fortunate to have become Dafa disciples during this era when Dafa is flourishing around the world. We have the honor of assisting Teacher in the Fa rectification period. Your daughter will cherish the extraordinary opportunity that one will not meet again in an eternity. I will persistently walk this path that I have come to realize as the righteous way.

Mother, there is nothing wrong with cultivating ourselves in Dafa! Falun Dafa is the most righteous Fa. And Zhen, Shan, Ren is the divine Fa. Because we cultivate and practice Dafa, we benefit from Dafa and have obtained a healthy body, free from illness. Our lives have become eternal. Our morals are pure. We have no complaints and no hatred.

Mother, there is nothing wrong in being firm in our belief! Belief is not superstition! The Buddha Fa is a most extraordinary science. Only the person who truly believes in it is worthy of witnessing the existence of the extraordinary phenomena. When evil is being completely eliminated, everyone will be able to see our sacred glory.

Mother, there is nothing wrong with appealing! To sustain the truth, we uphold justice. In the face of obstruction from evil forces, we are fearless. Facing the evils, we dare to speak the truth.

Mother, there is absolutely nothing wrong with exposing the evil, clarifying the truth, and trying to save sentient beings! Over one billion Chinese people are deceived and poisoned by the evil's propaganda and they may face the danger of being eliminated. How could we take no notice of what we see and ignore them? Saving people is our duty and responsibility. To give salvation to the sentient beings and save the universe, our benevolent great Teacher has endured enormous anguish for us.

Mother, we don't feel the hardship because we have placed ourselves within Dafa and obtained eternal happiness. Even though we haven't seen each other for over two years, our hearts and spirits are always connected. We have met so many times in my dreams. There were so many times that we appealed together and were detained in the appeals office. In Tiananmen Square, together, we expressed our sincere regards and wishes to our great Teacher. In prison, facing evil police's interrogation, we clarified the truth righteously and frightened the evil. In order to spread Dafa and let more people know and benefit from Dafa, we went from town to town, village to village to teach the exercises. Together, we helped one another. All these things are still fresh in my mind!

Mother, can you still remember that when I was born over forty years ago, you wished that I would become like a boy. Now, I keep improving myself in Dafa. For the last two years, I have clarified the truth, saving people, considering wherever I go as home. I make it my will to save sentient beings and assist our Teacher in this earthly world. The vows we made long, long ago are being fulfilled. To save sentient beings, we can tolerate any hardships and difficulties before us and we are willing to sacrifice. However, our family members are also bearing the hardships. My brother sheds tears whenever he thinks of you. He cares about you and worries whether you can bear more suffering. Although my grandma is a firm practitioner and deeply trusts our Teacher, she cannot help but worry about us and sheds her tears. The most miserable is your only grandson, who has always wanted so much to see his grandma and me, his eldest aunt. Such a young life, one who should live in a serene and happy family, suffers at such an early age from the tragedy of family separation.

Now, my eyes are filled with tears. I can only share our Teacher's poem with you

"Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions
A Great Enlightened Being does not fear hardship
Having forged an adamantine will
And with no attachment to living or dying
He walks his path of Fa-rectification openly and nobly"
