We are very surprised to hear that a citizen of you country, Charles Li, was detained at Guangzhou airport by the Chinese government during a business trip. The sole reason for his detention is that he is a Falun Gong practitioner. This shows that the Chinese government's behaviour is becoming more and more unreasonable, and they are ignoring International Law in persecuting Falun Gong.

It's apparent to the world that Falun Gong is a peaceful and harmonious cultivation way, by which practitioners obtain health in both body and spirit, while raising their moral standards at the same time. There are more than 100 million people practising Falun Gong in more than 60 countries worldwide. But, the Chinese government continues to persecute practitioners using beatings, torture, and even killing thousands of people, breaking up their families and rendering them homeless. Furthermore, the persecution has spread overseas with the illegal detention of a US practitioner. This is absolutely intolerable.

We sincerely hope the US government will help Charles Li and do everything in its power to secure his release as soon as possible.
