Liu Zhiwei, a 26-year old female practitioner, and Ms Cong Lihua, a 34-year old female practitioner, both from Donggong Village, Donggong County, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, were kidnapped by police on February 27, 2002. They are both being detained illegally in the 12^th section of the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City. The 12^th section's phone number is: 86-451-4101455 extension 3476.

Feeling strongly that the responsibility of every Falun Dafa practitioner is to clarify the facts to people who have been deceived by anti-Falun Gong propaganda, on February 27, 2002 these two practitioners went out to hang banners. Sun Jiaming, who the police hired to spy on practitioners, reported them to the police, and they were taken to the local police station in Donggong County. Sun Jiaming and another man Wang Yan cursed and beat the practitioners because they refused to cooperate while going to the county police station.

Subsequently, these two practitioners were illegally arrested and detained in the second detention center in Shuangcheng City.

All Falun Dafa practitioners in the detention center began a hunger strike on April 23 because practitioner Wu Baowang, a 36-year old male practitioner from Qingling, Shuangcheng City, was tortured to death. Police were terrified by these practitioners' righteous thoughts. They sent Liu Zhiwei and Cong Lihua to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp to be brainwashed, and illegally sentenced them to two years of forced labor.

The police in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp viciously tortured these two practitioners in an attempt to get them to write the so-called "Repentance Statement." [In this statement the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practicing Falun Gong and to promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.] They psychologically manipulated and tortured practitioners into making the repentance statement, and into slandering Falun Gong and the founder of Falun Gong in front of a video camera. They force-fed practitioners hot pepper water and toxic chemicals in liquid form, forced them to sit on "Tiger Benches" [an instrument of torture where one is forced to sit on a small iron bench with knees tightly tied to the bench and hands tied behind the back. Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the lower legs to make it even harder to bear the pain.], and isolated them. They deprived practitioners of sleep for several days and nights while they were tied to these benches. While torturing practitioners, the police would broadcast fabricated programs defaming and slandering Falun Gong in an attempt to brainwash and further weaken practitioners.

The police forced the relatives and friends of Falun Gong practitioners to condemn the founder of Falun Dafa, Mr. Li Hongzhi. When these friends and family visited, they were force to express hatred, hostility, and opposition toward Falun Dafa. Otherwise, they were refused their right to visit these practitioners. If practitioners did not bend under the pressure of brainwashing, their relatives and friends could not bring them any clothes or food.

Liu Zhiwei and Cong Lihua are still suffering the inhuman persecution and torture in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.
