Changchun Practitioners Participating in Falun DafaTV Broadcast Are Severely Tortured

On the evening of March 5^th, 2002, Dafa practitioners broadcasted a truth-clarification program about Falun Gong via cable TV. The program exposed the truth of how Jiang's regime had tortured Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners Lei Ming, Zhou Runjun, Zhao Jian, Tian Li, Chi Yan, Li Xiaojie, and Liang Zhenxin, were kidnapped and tortured by the police. The Changchun City Police Department set up an interrogation room near Jingyue Lake specifically to apply torture to these practitioners. Practitioner Zhou Runjun was cruelly tortured by the police with an electric baton, and by other instruments of torture such as the "tiger bench" [Practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch over the practitioners and force them to remain motionless while sitting on the bench. Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioners' lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this abuse (see illustration on http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html.] As a result, several of Zhou's ribs were broken. He is still detained in the police hospital.

The police also used electric batons to repeatedly shock Zhao Jian while his hands and feet were tied up with rope and he was sitting on the tiger bench. Zhao's hands are still numb and cannot grip anything.

Three police officers used electric batons to shock Chi Yan simultaneously all over her body, including her mouth, nipples, and private areas. Her body is covered with horrifying wounds.

Tian Li was shocked many times with electric batons while she was forced to sit on the tiger bench. The torture caused her to repeatedly scream in unbearable pain. Police also had to recharge the electric baton many times due to running out of power.

For five consecutive days, Li Xiaojie was forced to sit on a tiger bench while being shocked with an electric baton. She passed out many times during the torture.
