Comments from a Non-Practitioner on the Lawsuit Against Jiang Zemin and the Founding of the Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners

Recently, there have been many news items on the Internet concerning Falun Gong. First, Falun Gong filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin in a United States federal court for crimes of genocide in his persecution of Falun Gong. Soon after that, the Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners was formally established in the United States. One day later, the first list of litigants and parties involved in the "Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation" was released to the public to obtain evidence.

I don't how others feel, but personally, as a Chinese, I could not turn a deaf ear to Falun Gong during these past three years. I have watched them walking resolutely on the difficult path of peaceful resistance in the face of the brutal suppression against them. I deeply admire the power that they demonstrate.

Reflecting on the past three and a half years, it is as if I have been watching a frenzy of violence in a boxing ring, which is so out of control that it is completely against the game rules. The stronger party went crazy -- determined to deprive the other party of dignity, or else kill him. Brutal and heavy fists fell in a torrent on the weak. The latter in turn looked completely helpless, but still managed to keep telling the people in the stands, "Look, what a ridiculous thing it is. He is killing me. You should uphold justice. Help me to stop this brutal murdering, please!"

However, the murderer was too powerful and too horrible. Except for a few onlookers in the stands with social backgrounds and status who dared to speak out in fairness for the weak, the rest chose to keep silent. And I was one of the latter, except that I had sympathy in my heart and concern in my eyes. Some cold-blooded scoundrels in human clothing were even cheering from the excitement brought about by the bloody violence.

Thus, the performance lasted for three and half years. However, the attacker is gradually becoming less powerful due to the exhaustion of its energy. And those who used to cheer for the violence are losing interest. Some of them left, tired of too much violence. And more people are beginning to shout, "Stop!" At this point, the stronger party is only passively shaking its violent fist in order not to lose face and power. But to our surprise, the weak party, with its endless endurance and persistence, has not only survived the past three and a half years, but has become more and more flexible and vigorous. Even more dramatically, it is firmly putting forward the suggestion that the evildoers should be punished through legal procedures for the crimes it has committed in the past three years.

My life experience had led me to believe that this was a tragedy in the human world that could not be changed. I believed that we had to wait until our offspring, when they compiled history, to finally castigate the bloody dictator and cherish the memory of those who suffered while bravely fighting for the sake of truth. However, Falun Gong practitioners have changed history, and have greatly brightened my view of life. I cannot help but wonder what strength has made them become more and more mature, rational, strong-willed, powerful and full of wisdom instead of being destroyed during the inhumane persecution of the past three and a half years.

They don't have power, wealth or other aid, and they stubbornly insist on the principle of not fighting back when beaten or sworn at. Conversely, Jiang has all the power that nobody on earth is able to compete with. Yet I, as a viewer in the stands, cannot help but experience an invisible strength in Falun Gong. I feel that it is righteousness, invisible but irresistible. It brings hope to all people of goodwill and justice. It helps strengthen their belief in being good people. The helpless thought that kind people are always taken advantage of has been changed in this battle between the good and the evil. I feel so proud that such a significant historic feat has manifested itself in the Divine Land of China. I am also anticipating the day for this righteousness to fully penetrate through the cosmos and come to the Divine Land as soon as possible.
