The Savage Acts of Guards in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp Cannot Shake My Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a female Dafa practitioner in Liaoning Province. In writing this article I always felt very bad whenever I recalled the scenes where Falun Dafa practitioners were cruelly tortured. My tears would keep rolling down. We are all kind-hearted people, yet for simply saying, "Falun Dafa is good", we are being tortured and persecuted, some of us even giving up our lives.

After July 20, 1999, my sister Li Suyun, many other practitioners, and I were illegally held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The officers and policemen there are very cruel and vicious. To resist the illegal detention and persecution, female practitioners Zhang Xiujie and Li Yaxuan from Chaoyang City refused to do callisthenics, and they were beaten unconscious. Zhang Xiujie lost consciousness several times. Because of the severe beating, her back was festering from the injuries. She could not raise her arms and was unable to take off her clothes when going to bed. Her neck was covered with scars as a result of shocks from electric batons.

My sister Li Suyun has been beaten many times for practicing the exercises, and each time her injuries were very serious. She was handcuffed to the pipes of the central heating system and forced to stand still for long periods of time. She was not allowed to sleep day and night, and forced to remain standing for several consecutive days. The camp used many hideous instruments to torture my sister, but she remained determined and steadfast. No matter how the prison guards tortured her, she still kept up her daily practice of Falun Gong exercises. Once a prison guard instructed inmates to beat up my sister, and she was seriously injured. Her face was deformed and ghastly pale. The whites of her eyes turned all bloody. I could only recognize my sister by her voice.

My sister staged a hunger strike in protest. Even when she was extremely weak, she was still subjected to electric shocks. Prison guard Wang Guangyun forced her to lie on the ice-cold cement floor during the dead of winter. Besides, my sister also suffered from the pain of forced feeding. Her front teeth were broken off when the prison guards tried to pry open her mouth. Because my sister had been on a hunger strike for a long period of time and was tortured by the prison guards with various cruel instruments, she was extremely weak. She passed out twice, foamed at the mouth and her tongue was injured as well. My sister's weight plummeted from 50 kilograms [~110 pounds] to less than 35 kilograms [~78 pounds]. She was virtually nothing but skin and bones, and her eyes were sunken.

In spite of her terrible condition, the policemen still forced my sister to do hard labor. Owing to prolonged persecution my sister collapsed. Her heart stopped beating and her blood pressure went to zero. She was at the death's door. Only at that time did the policemen send my sister to a hospital. When my brother-in-law saw the shape of his wife as a result of the torture, he held my sister tightly and was choked with tears. Immediately he realized that the so-called "education and persuasion" proclaimed by the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp were nothing but lies intended to cover up their crimes.

I was beaten many times also. The prison guards Dai Yuhong and Fang Hehong also instructed inmates to beat me. They forced me to lower my head toward the toilet with my buttocks sticking up as a punishment. At the time it was winter, and I was forced to wear only underwear and stand barefoot on the bathroom floor, where there were puddles of water. Not long after, both of my feet were numb and I was shivering with cold.

On the eve of the year 2000, incited by the police, some collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to the brainwashing and torture] were rehearsing programs that slandered Falun Dafa. These programs were prepared for the New Year celebration. I thought to myself, I know that Dafa and Teacher are so good, and I would not let it happen. It's my responsibility to safeguard Dafa. Then I grabbed the anti-Falun Gong materials from the collaborators, tore them into pieces and threw them into the toilet. I also stopped their dress rehearsal the following day. Three prison guards beat me in a frenzy. They seized my hair, slapped my face and kicked me all over my body. After they knocked me down, they would pull me back up. The three of them beat me in turns for at least half an hour and only let me go when they were too tired to continue. When I looked in the mirror I found that my face was distorted, and my eyes were so swollen that I could barely open them. However, at that time I had very strong righteous thoughts, so this beating didn't have any long-term effects.

Female practitioner Shi Chunying was subjected to electric shocks many times for practicing the five sets of exercises. She had scars all over her face, and her back was injured, so she needed other people's help when walking.

Female practitioners Zhang Xiujie and Qi Zhenron were subjected to electric shocks for refusing to do hard labor. Three police guards shocked Qi Zhenron with electric batons at the same time. They stripped her clothes off and cuffed her hands behind her back. The guards shocked the accupoints of her back, palm, foot arches and the back of her neck. When she was subjected to electric shocks, she recited the poem "Non-existence" and other poems from Hong Yin. The guards used the electric batons to shock her mouth, even sticking the baton inside her mouth. They tortured her in that way for more than half an hour. She had scars all over her neck and back. While she slept she often groaned due to the pain.

Female practitioner Nie Jing from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province was subjected to electric shocks for not renouncing her faith, and later she was confined in a solitary compartment. ["Being confined in a solitary compartment" refers to locking up a single detainee in a solitary cell, which contains a basin and a pair of handcuffs. The basin is used both for face washing and as a toilet. One end of the handcuffs fastens the wrist and the other end attaches to the door railing. The handcuffs can be fastened onto the door railing at three different heights. In the highest position, the detainee has to extend his/her arm upward. The middle position is at waist level. In the lowest position, the detainee can sit on the ground.]

Female practitioner Liu Chengyan from Fushun City, Lioaning Province gave a horrible scream when she was subjected to electric shocks by policewomen Yang Yu and Zhao Guangrong for not writing the so-called "homework" that slandered Dafa. Her legs were hurt so seriously she had difficulty in walking.

In the summer of 2000, female practitioners Wang Jinfei from Kang Ping County, Qin Yulan from Jinzhou County and I were forced to endure solitary confinement by policewoman Sheng Ying because we refused to recite the camp's "30 Rules and Regulations." We were not allowed to go to bed and not allowed to speak. We were forced to stand still for a long period of time and to march from morning till night. The prison guards also sent inmates to watch us, and they often said very nasty things to us.

In October 2000, I was taken to the first floor to undergo an intensified brainwashing session. The collaborators there tried to brainwash me in turns. They spoke sarcastically to me with twisted logic and did not let me sleep. However, the brainwashing did not work at all. Then they forced me to squat down as a punishment. Practitioners who were punished together with me included Jia Naizhi, Wang Shuzhen, Qi Zhenrong, and Feng Li (all female). We were forced to stay in a squatting position from 5 o'clock in the morning until midnight. Our legs were put into holes in the floor so that we could not move. It was extremely painful. One day, the pain in my leg was so great that I was covered with sweat. My heart did not feel well and I lost consciousness. When I fell forward my nose rammed into something and was injured. However hard the evil tortured me, I was as determined as ever not to give up my cultivation, and as a matter of fact I grew more determined in my belief.

Policewoman Zhang Yan stripped off my clothes and tried to force me, with an electric baton, to write the "Repentance Statement." She did this even though she knew that the medical examination showed I suffered from tachycardia and myocardial deficiency of blood. At that time my righteous thoughts were very strong. I told her that I would rather die than write the statement. This policewoman viciously shocked me with the electric baton, which produced sparks when it came in contact with my body. However, I was not afraid at all. Her efforts ended in failure.

Because I refused to give up cultivation, the police extended my term in the forced labor camp for another ten months. I was released on September 9, 2001 after having been held for two years and forty days.

During my illegal detention, my husband missed me very much. One day he accidentally fell when working upstairs and hurt his back. Now he cannot do any heavy work. Without a mother's love, my child has suffered greatly. My mother's hair became even greyer because she missed both my sister and I so much.

My family is not the only one suffering from the persecution. Many other practitioners have been imprisoned for a long time, suffered from the persecution by the Jiang regime and received inhuman treatment. Many other practitioners that have families could not return and were forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested. They are in a very difficult situation.
