Canada: Scenes from the Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration in Ottawa (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 2, 2003, the Chinese Community Association of Ottawa presented an annual Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration, which is a grand gathering of Chinese people to celebrate the spring festival. Various booths were set up and artistic performances were given. As usual, Ottawa Falun Dafa practitioners also rented a display booth. In a corner of the great hall, long red banners imprinted with the yellow words "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" were very eye-catching. The performances were brilliant and the atmosphere was quite lively. During the event, although some people from the Chinese embassy attempted to make some trouble, they were unable to find support in the field of righteous thoughts and peacefulness. Nearly two thousand Chinese people, people of different nationalities who love Chinese culture, Canadian Parliament Members and other government officials joyfully celebrated the Chinese New Year.

Lively gongs and drums as well as a jubilant lion dance opened the 2003 Ram Year celebration. The first group giving a performance was the Lotus Flower Art Troupe from Montreal. Accompanied by beautiful music, their dances, including "The Lotus Flower's Purity", "Chinese Fan Dance" and the "Tang Dynasty Fashion Show" brought the audience something new and fresh, and won rounds of warm applause. The delighted audience was able to guess that they were a group of Falun Gong practitioners who enjoyed dance.

When the music "Dots of plum blossoms herald the arrival of spring in heaven and on earth" sounded, dressed in beautiful Tang Dynasty costumes, female Falun Gong practitioners came out on stage. Some people in the audience commented, "Falun Gong practitioners have so many talents." Warm applause burst out from the audience.

Accompanied by a song by a soprano, "Striding across hundreds of mountains and thousands of rivers, I come for you again and again. I come because I love you. Precious Chinese people, please calmly listen to the voice from my heart, Falun Dafa is good, Falun Dafa is good! Please do not believe in those deceiving lies", the Lotus Flower Art Troupe performed a cheerful Chinese fan dance.

Through this activity, we made ourselves a part of the Chinese community and felt their sense of justice. Who would not cherish freedom? Who would not long for a wonderful future? As a matter of fact, everyone has kindness in his heart. The song "Falun Dafa is good" expressed the Chinese people's heartfelt wishes and moved the kind-hearted people. Just before the party concluded, a person who is in charge of the Chinese community association went to the Falun Dafa display booth, held a practitioner's hand and sincerely said, "Please continue to persevere and keep up the good work!"
