Jail In July of 2002, a determined female Dafa practitioner was detained at the Shenyang Dabei Jail.
Because of her steadfast belief in Dafa, she was cuffed and locked up in a mini-cell. Four criminals
monitored and tortured her 24 hours a day, which caused her to pass away in the jail. The Dafa
practitioner's name is not known yet. The details are still being investigated. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Police Supervise the Internet with "Internet Police"
Software Police officers have started recording web surfers' information with the software "Internet
Police." It is said that the software can show one's IP address automatically to help track the

police station for 24 hours a day. Zhang Xiujuan (female) was forcibly sent to the Tangshan Textile University's brainwashing center
by the Xixinlou police station in the Guye district. No visiting is allowed. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioners An Lixin and Shao Zhongye Are Brutally
Tortured in the Dandong Forced Labor Camp In December 2002, An Lixin and Shao Zhongye, who had been illegally detained at the Dandong
forced labor camp, were locked up in steel cages because they wrote material validating Dafa. An
Lixin was locked up for one month before he was released. Shao Zhongye has been locked up in the
cage for one month and still has not been released. Last summer, Shao was shocked by electric batons
for two days and was beaten for several hours by policemen because he refused to write the
"Three Statements" [Note: "Three Statements" are documents coerced under
extreme pressure, torture and brainwashing, designed by the Chinese authority to ensure that
detained Falun Gong practitioners are appropriately brain-washed. The statements consist of a letter
of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list containing names and
addresses of all family, friends and acquaintances of the detainee who practice Falun Gong. This
system was concocted by the "610" office, an agency specifically created to persecute
Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other
political and judiciary systems.]. A policeman viciously stomped on his abdomen, causing him
great pain. He was left unable to walk and could only sit or lie down. There have been over 20 Dafa
practitioners detained in the camp. [Yinko City, Liaoning Province] A Dafa Materials Site Is Destroyed by Police In the evening of January 29, 2003, a Dafa materials site was destroyed by policemen. Two Dafa
practitioners were arrested and their whereabouts are unknown. [Anyue County, Sichuan Province] Female Dafa Practitioner Wang Hongxia Is Illegally Sent to the
Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp and Her Condition Is Unknown In 1999, because she appealed to the government to ask for fair treatment of Falun Gong, Wang
Hongxia was sentenced to the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp for two years. In the camp, she was
brutally tortured by the guards for her righteous belief in Dafa, and her term was extended for nine
months. After being sent home in October 2002, she continued to expose the atrocities Jiang's regime has
committed in their persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. In December of 2002, local police
officers illegally sent her to a forced labor camp for two and one-half years. Wang Hongxia went on
a seven day hunger strike in the detention center. Afraid of being held responsible, the local
police officers secretly moved her to the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp again, and her situation is

Detained for One Month in a Detention Center in Gurao Town Three Dafa practitioners, including Zhang Bairu, from the Gurao town were arrested by local
policemen while hanging posters that said "Falun Dafa is Good" after being reported to the
police. They have been detained for one month, and it's said that they will be sent to forced labor

promoted from the Assistant Section Chief to the Section Chief for his activities in persecuting
Dafa practitioners. Dafa practitioners have tried to make him understand the truth of Dafa many
