Jilin Chemical Industry Limited Inc. Deceives Employees into Watching a Movie that Slanders Falun Dafa; Many Angry People Try to Leave
(Clearwisdom.net) Toward the end of 2002, the government produced a movie full of lies
against Falun Gong. It then launched a nation-wide showing of the movie and forced people to watch
it. The government fully understood that people would never spend their own money to go to a cinema
to watch a bad film filled with lies. To find an audience, they used all sorts of means. They forced
government agencies, employees in state-run enterprises, and pupils in primary and middle schools to
watch the movie, and even mobilized the police to guard the entrances to prevent people from leaving
in the middle of the show. Jilin Chemical Industry Limited Inc. is a large state-run enterprise. At the end of 2002, to seek
political advantages, the president of the company put a paragraph in his annual report defaming
Falun Gong. The company forced the general secretary at each branch office to handle the movie as a
political task that would be evaluated. Each branch office was assigned a specified number of people
who had to attend the show. Nobody would be allowed to be absent, late, or leave early. Otherwise
the branch office would receive a lower score in its assessment. To fulfill the task, many general secretaries in the branch offices did not dare to let their
employees know the real subject of the movie. Since many branch offices had suffered severe losses,
cinemas owned by the branch offices had been sold. Thus, the employees hadn't watched a
company-sponsored movie for several years. Many employees thought that it must be an entertaining
show. So when the movie was played, many employees, who found they were deceived, tried to walk out
one after another. Those who made their way to the entrance found to their surprise that the door
was shut. Security guards from the company guarded the door. Nevertheless, some employees managed to leave. With the help of some police that saw no
justification in these actions, they got out, using excuses such as smoking, etc. They told some
Dafa practitioners about this situation later that night. Many employees were angry about this
movie. When they learned that police blocked the exit, and that it was a political task, they were
even angrier. One cadre who had worked many years as a Party propagandist told the people in his
department after watching the beginning of the movie, "With one glance I knew it was being
played by some hired actors. Their acting is really bad. Let's go home. You can do whatever you want
to do!" He then left the cinema with some of his employees. February 21, 3002 Posting date: 3/1/2003
