Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhao Yingqi of Tangshan City, Hebei Province, Tortured to Death in Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net)

Zhao Yingqi, age 59, was an employee of the Kailuan Area Fagezhuang Mine in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Both his legs had been disabled due to accidents at work. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1994.

Near the end of October, Fagezhuang Ore's 610 Office illegally ransacked his home and illegally sentenced him to 3 years of forced labor. He was sent to Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City. On December 31, because he refused to be brainwashed and began a hunger strike to protest, he died due to torture he received while detained in the labor camp. Witnesses later disclosed that he had been beaten to death. Both the labor camp and his employer are currently trying to absolve themselves of any responsibility. Because of the dispute between the labor camp and his employer in terms of who is responsible for his death, his body remains in the People's Hospital and was not yet released to be cremated.

Gu Laicun, the Director of Fagezhuang Ore's 610 Office and also the company's Party Secretary, is very malicious. He ordered all Falun Gong practitioners in that area to be put under surveillance and blocked the information of his persecuting Falun Gong practitioners from being exposed. Under his command, the ore company sent many of its employees to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in that area. They forbid practitioners from freely entering or leaving the area and privately detained anyone who would not listen to them. Those private detentions lasted anywhere from a month to a permanent sentence. After one male practitioner was forced to leave home, the director announced that, when they caught him, they would invent new methods of torture before beating him to death.
