Dafa practitioner Zhang Zhenqiu, female, 43, was a worker who lived on the second floor of unit one of the Tire Factory Residential Building in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

On February 20, 2003, while doing truth-clarification work, Ms. Zhang was reported to the police and thus arrested. The lawless police subjected her to brutal torture in the Kuancheng District Police Department. Not until she was near death did they stop the torture and send her to the Armed Police Hospital for emergency treatment. However, she died despite the rescue efforts. On February 25, the police cremated her body without having her family identify her. They also forced her family to pay for cremation costs.

Because the police tightly blocked the news of Ms. Zhang's death, we did not learn of this tragedy until her body was cremated.

The responsible parties include: Changchun "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems), Kuancheng District Police Department, Political Security Division, Vice Squad, Political and Legal Committee.

Ms. Zhang becamd a Dafa practitioner in 1996. Ever since, she had been striving forward in cultivation diligently. She had silently done a lot of truth-clarification work. She had written numerous articles clarifying the truth of Dafa, and passed out numerous truth-clarification flyers. Wherever she went, she left the message that "Falun Dafa is Good" and "Falun Dafa offers salvation to sentient beings."
