Falun Dafa Benefited My Whole Family; Yet the Persecution Ripped it Apart

(Clearwisdom.net) I'm a Dafa practitioner from Jilin Province. I started to practice Falun Gong in February 1996, and since then many miracles have happened in my family. I suffered from M ni re's syndrome when I was 13 and later on I also suffered from gastroenteritis. Because my family did not have much money, I never received any proper treatment and the diseases were never completely cured. I was thrown into great pain and misery each time I had a relapse of the diseases. However, the diseases disappeared only a few months after I started practicing Falun Gong. It was truly a miracle. I have two daughters and a son, who also practice Falun Gong. My eldest daughter suffered from pre-natal heart disease as well as myocarditis. In 1990, we took her for a treatment at the hospital of the automobile plant [where I worked]. The doctor said that there was no effective medication for her and that the only thing we could do was to prevent her condition from deteriorating. My son suffered from pneumonia when he was two years old, and since then every winter he would be sick a few times each month, and every time he would run a temperature as high as 40 í C [104 í F]. Sometimes he would lose consciousness, and it was really terrifying. In order to treat their illnesses, the family spent a lot of money and was heavily in debt, and we were very poor. After they took up the practice of Falun Gong, all their illnesses disappeared. My wife suffered from a stomach problem for ten years before she practiced Falun Gong, but only 4 months after she started the practice, the problem also disappeared. Falun Gong gave everyone in our family good health and gave my daughter a second life. We are deeply grateful to Master, because aside from the good health we now enjoy, Master also taught us to be good people according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

For all these reasons, in the face of the suppression by Jiang's gang of criminals, and in spite of the fact that we were poverty-stricken, I went to Beijing on January 8, 2000, to appeal for Falun through the assistance from other fellow practitioners. I hoped that the government would learn the truth about Falun Gong. However, I was illegally arrested halfway by the local police station and was taken to a detention center, where I was detained for 36 days. During that period of time, I suffered severe beatings for practicing the Falun Dafa exercises, and I was later handcuffed and put in shackles. The head of the police station Zhou Fengchen and others interrogated me and beat me up. They took off my clothes and hit me with belt buckles on my face, head and back until my eyes turned black and blue and my back was badly swollen with bruises. They hit me more than a hundred times. Because of this, fellow practitioners and I started a hunger strike. A week later, the guard asked us to write a "Dissociation Statement"* [A statement to declare a dissociation with Falun Gong and promise not go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.], and when we refused, they tortured us continuously for four days. They forced us to run bare footed for hours outside, with the temperature at 20 degrees below zero [-4 í F]; they forced us to stand with our legs split to their extremes while having our arms stretched out. Each time we would be forced to stand like this for two hours; they also forced us to stand with our legs widely split, our back bent forward and our head stretching out; at the same time we were forced to touch the ground with our hands. Each time we would be forced to stand in this position for two hours. Each time after such torture, our limbs became totally numb and we could not stand up. Some practitioners were very weak due to ten consecutive days of hunger strike. They fainted on the spot. If they could not stand up, they would be severely beaten up with fists and kicks. If they could not hold the standing position as asked, they would be kicked and lashed with bamboo reeds [which are very flexible, hard, and cause extreme pain]. The back of their hands became badly swollen. Thirty six days later, the police station released me after extorting 2,300 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] from my family.

On January 14, 2001, the local police came to my house to search for Dafa materials. When they learned that my wife had copied Dafa materials, they forcibly took my wife away and did not release her until they had extorted 200 Yuan from us. On March 8, 2002 the police came to my house again to search for Dafa materials and took my wife away. They did not even spare our youngest daughter, who is 15 years old. It was only after the intervention of our fellow villagers and fellow practitioners that they released our youngest daughter. Later, my wife was sent to the Heizuizi Labor Camp in Changchun for one year forced labor. She is still detained there to date. Because I was forced to leave home for a long time, and both my eldest children are attending high school at a place 60 kilometers away from home, my youngest daughter has to shoulder all the farm work herself. After a day's hard work in the fields, she would fall asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow. She often calls out for her mum in her dreams, and relatives all feel very sad and shed tears at the sight of her. Although she is very young, she has never complained or cried over her hardships. She said that one day Dafa's name would be cleared.

Jiang Zemin and criminals of "610 Office"* place themselves above the law; they trample on the basic rights of the Chinese people at will and persecute Dafa practitioners using all kinds of means. I hope that the kind-hearted people with a sense of justice all over the world will help us gain a free and peaceful living environment.

*"610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
