Attachments Do Practitioners Great Harm

I am a good tree-climber, always climbing up trees and electric-wire-poles to hang scrolls and banners. I had been clarifying the truth, delivering flyers, and posting Dafa material very safely. Yet unconsciously, I had developed the attachment of zealotry, the mentality of showing off, and the competitive mentality. I felt very happy because the evil could not see me when I hung scrolls; I was also very pleased when fellow practitioners praised me in person.

Because of these attachments, the evil took advantage of the loophole I left. Once, when hanging a scroll, I fell from a place on a tree more than ten meters above the ground and was seriously injured. I had my left heel bone broken, the 12^th piece of my lumbar vertebral column broken to pieces, my vertebral column seriously deformed, my ribs broken, and a sign of a fracture was seen on my pelvis. I had an eleven month old daughter and a wife who couldn't handle taking care of her alone. Desperation, repentance, and pain all came on me together. In a state of unconsciousness, I saw Teacher coming and saying that "Don't move, I will replace that piece of your vertebral column." In saying this, he took a piece of vertebral bone and replaced my broken one with it. Despite this, the doctor said that I would become a vegetable. However, thanks to Teacher's strengthening, I was able to stand up after 25 days and to do farm work after 40 days, carrying items weighing more than 100 pounds and moving at a brisk pace. People around all said that it was a miracle of Falun Gong. However, I also took it as a lesson.

There appeared other similar cases in our area. For example, a practitioner went to Beijing to appeal several times. Unfurling banners and breaking through with righteous thoughts, she was cruelly persecuted by the evil and seriously hurt, and is still unable to walk. She was really firm and steadfast and all of us admired her, some of us a bit too much. People, even from neighboring areas, came to share experiences with her after hearing her story, and praised her for her greatness and firmness.

I think that everyone has their own path of cultivation. There are no models to follow. This fellow practitioner now thinks of herself as being quite important, which is very dangerous.

No matter what we are doing, we must do it using reason, wisdom and strong righteous thoughts. Every single one of our practitioners has his/her own specialty and strong points as well as weak points. In this special historical period, we should support and forgive each other to raise our level as a whole and make good progress together. Let's lessen our losses, leave the evil no opportunities to exploit, and completely eradicate the evil and rotten ghouls.
