"I Believe Falun Gong Practitioners Don't Tell Lies"
(Clearwisdom.net) People believe Falun Gong speaks of the truth My sister and I went to buy some clothes. When we were paying, the storeowner
said that our 50-Yuan bill looked counterfeit and that he wanted us to give him
a different one. I said to him, "I wouldn't cheat you with fake bills." The
storeowner replied, "I don't even know you, how would I know?" My sister and I
said at the same time, "We both practice Falun Gong." The storeowner replied
happily, "Great, I'll take your money. I believe Falun Gong practitioners don't
tell lies." "We all know what's going on" During the Chinese New Year holiday, a fellow practitioner invited several
relatives from out of town to his home for dinner, hoping to clarify the truth
to them. His relatives more-or-less all said that they have received
truth-clarifying materials and have looked at them. One relative said to him,
"Our factory has many Falun Gong practitioners who went to Beijing to plead with
the government. When they came back the factory administration did not give them
a hard time. Actually, nowadays many of us know what's really going on." Another
relative was not very healthy and wanted to practice Falun Gong. The
practitioner showed the exercise movements to his relatives and gave them copies
of Zhuan Falun. They accepted the books respectfully and said that they
would read the book and take it to heart. "They post it on the telephone pole and it doesn't block traffic. Why would I
mess with it?" On January 17th, a number of people gathered around a telephone pole looking
at a flyer. The flyer described the "Statement from the 'World Organization to
Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong' to investigate the 'Tiananmen Square
Self-immolation.'" Discussing among themselves they said, "Falun Gong
practitioners simply want to be good people and be healthy. There's no reason to
stop them. Plus, such efforts have proven to be futile." The next day, a police car stopped at the telephone pole and the police tore
down the flyer. Enraged, they cursed and said to the pedestrians, "Why didn't
the street cleaners take down this flyer?" An old man replied, "They put it on
the telephone pole and it didn't block the traffic, why would I mess with it?"
The police couldn't give a good reason and hurried away. Posting date: 3/21/2003 |
