France: People From all Walks of Society Join New Year Celebration Dinner Party (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of March 11th, Falun Gong practitioners hosted a dinner party
in a cultural centre in Paris for people who have supported or expressed
concerns for Falun Gong. The guests included the head of the Asian Division of
the French Green Party, representatives of the Taiwanese government in France,
people from various French and Asian cultural and human rights organisations,
journalists, famous scholars of ancient-Chinese culture, solicitors and so
forth, as well as the Falun Gong practitioners themselves. More than four
hundred people attended the celebration. Falun Dafa books, various types of material revealing the
truth about the persecution and "The Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa" photo
exhibition were all displayed in the Main Hall. This helped the guests to
improve their understanding of Falun Dafa and practitioners. The practitioners staged a magnificent multi-faceted cultural
performance for the guests. The ancient Chinese instruments of Er-Hu and Chin,
and a contemporary violin combined for the piece "Saving the World".
Practitioners also performed a Fan Dance, a violin solo piece, a Sword Dance, an
Er-Hu Solo piece and a Chin Solo piece, a Lotus Flower Dance, and the song "Falun
Dafa is Good" to finish. The room was packed and many people had to sit in the
aisles for the performances. There were two special additional performances. One was the
demonstration of the Falun Gong exercises, which was done by seven Falun Gong
practitioners of different ages and races, dressed in colourful clothes. The
graceful movements and peacefulness of the exercises impressed many people. Even
those who had supported or showed concerns for Falun Dafa for many years, said
in amazement: "Falun Gong exercises are so beautiful!" Another additional
performance was a display of Tang Dynasty dresses. The models walked slowly, in
harmony with the rhythm of the graceful music written by practitioners, giving
impressions of the grandeur and dignity of the great Tang Dynasty, and the
beauty of its attire. The audiences responded with warm applause. These magnificent performances, and the peaceful and
harmonious atmosphere, touched the hearts of the audience. They have understood
the deeper meaning of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance" from another
perspective, and seen the benefits that following these principles can bring to
people. They have also realised that only evil people would persecute Falun
Gong. After the performances, people went to purchase Dafa books, collect more
information on the practice, and ask about how to learn the exercises. They also
signed a petition to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. Many praised the
organisational abilities of Falun Gong practitioners, and encouraged them to
organise more activities of this nature, so the goodness of Falun Gong may be
made better known to the society. Many practitioners who are in the catering business,
graciously provided sumptuous buffet dinner for the several hundred guests.
