Leaving Costa Rica, we drove to Nicaragua to continue our trip to bring to the people of Central America the truth about Falun Dafa.

We stayed in a small town 15 miles away from the capital city, Managua, and everyday we went back and forth between the two towns. We visited government departments, media outlets, universities, human rights organizations, foreigner embassies and Chinese owned enterprises. When people knew that we came from Canada to tell the facts about Dafa here, they were all very touched. The UN human rights officer in Nicaragua said, "This is what you should do." One diplomat from the Taiwan Embassy said that there is a Falun Gong exercise site near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan, and we should encourage more people to come and learn Dafa. A manager, who came from China and worked for a Taiwanese company, said after reading our material, "I do not believe the propaganda from China, but I know nothing about Falun Gong. Thanks for the information and materials, I will read them and pass them to the Chinese workers in the company."

Around the Managua airport, there is a famous industrial area where dozens of clothing manufacturing factories are located. Every factory has more than ten thousand workers and the managers of these factories are all either from Taiwan or Mainland China. We prepared Chinese information and visited them during the weekend. Most of them accepted the information except one factory owner who rudely refused to take the materials from us because he had recently come from China and was still under the influence of the propaganda there. However, even with this response we still gave the information that explained the truth to his Chinese factory workers and asked his security guard to give him the materials, so we are hopeful that some day he will understand the real facts behind the persecution.

One afternoon, two of us practitioners went to a media company that owns a TV station and a newspaper for a pre-arranged interview with a journalist, but were informed that there was no such person. We told the receptionist about why we were there and at the same time we sent forth righteous thoughts. In a very short time, we were arranged to speak with the president of the company. At the beginning, the president showed little interest to us and listened instead to a loud radio. However, we used very calm voices to tell her about the benefit of Dafa and the true story about the persecution in China. As a result she began to focus on the subject and was soon turning the radio volume down, and eventually off. After she knew the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, she was both astonished and angered. She immediately called the manager of the TV station and asked him to do a live interview. After the manager also understood the true story about Dafa, he immediately arranged for a live interview with a TV journalist and also took footage of us practicing the exercises.

We all know that this is the result of having righteous thoughts. Thus when one person was clarifying the truth, the other was continuously sending forth righteous thoughts. Before we left, we gave the book Zhuan Falun and the exercise tape to the president. She held them in her hands and very happily said, "This is what I really need." She also promised that she would publish our information in the newspaper.

Later we came to the office of the President of Nicaragua to clarify the truth. Before we entered the President's office, we calmed down to send forth righteous thoughts. In the reception office, we showed our identification and expressed our intention to the receptionist. She asked us to give the letter we wrote to the President and Dafa materials to the staff in the mailroom. We told her that we'd like to speak with the President, because we have very important information that we'd like to tell him. At the same time we told her the true story about Dafa. After listening to us, she immediately called the President's office and asked us to wait for a moment. During the waiting, we sent forth righteous thoughts continuously. As a result, the Assistant to the President agreed to see us. She quietly listened to our description about Dafa, and when she looked at the persecution's pictures, her eyes turned red. At last, she said, "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" are the basic essence of being human. Thank you for coming to our country. Today I will give the information to the President and at the same time I will inform our representative at the United Nations. You can call me at any time." After she learned what the benefits of Dafa are, she said, "I was looking for a set of exercise to relieve daily stress. I'm very interested in Falun Gong and I will visit Falun Dafa's website."

Because of the time limitation, we were not able to set up a permanent practice site in Nicaragua, and many people who want to learn Dafa felt sorry about this. But fortunately, we donated the books Zhuan Falun, Falun Gong, and the exercise tape to the National Library, National Bank Library, and the libraries of two universities in Nicaragua, which will lay a good foundation for pre-destined people to obtain Dafa.
