Austin Practitioners: The End of the Show Trial is not the End of the Rescue
March 21 was the day the Chinese government put on a show trial against US
citizen Charlies Li. Practitioners from Austin, Texas got together when the
trial started to send forth righteous thoughts and rescue Charles Li.
Jiang regime's show trial was a carefully planned arrangement geared to
persecuting all Falun Gong practitioners overseas. Upon having clearly
recognized the seriousness and the influence of the incidence, practitioners
determined to deny the arrangement of the old forces and sent forth powerful
righteous thoughts together with practitioners around the world.
On the same day, a reporter from the University of Texas at Austin's newspaper, The
Daily Texan, interviewed the Falun Gong Club at the university regarding Charles Li's
case. Civil engineering department student Danielle Wang, whose father was
sentenced to 16 years in prison, told the reporter that like her father's case,
Charles Li's case was totally groundless and in China he had no possibility to
have a fair trial.
The next day when the results of the show trial came out that Charles Li was
sentenced to three years in prison and would be expelled from China,
practitioners realized that we should continue to clarify the truth so Charles
could return to the US as soon as possible.
Falun Gong Practitioners in Iowa Strongly Condemn the Show Trial of Charles

On the evening of March 20, 2003 when the Chinese government put an innocent US
citizen on a show trial in China, Falun Gong practitioners from Iowa gathered in
front of the Iowa State Capitol to strongly condemn the Chinese government's act of
violation of human rights and demand the release of Charles Li immediately and
unconditionally. Practitioners distributed information about the persecution of Charles
Li and Falun Gong in China to State government officials and disclosed that the
purpose of the show trial was to mislead people overseas. The Jiang regime has never
followed the laws since the start of persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. Local
media carried the news before the event. Practitioner's righteous thoughts
moved many kind people. Some went out of their way to offer help for our event.
Some even sat with us besides the rescue Charles Li exhibition board to support
us.

Practitioners from San Antonio, Texas Condemn Show Trial, Mayor Shows Support

To rescue Dafa practitioner Charles Li who was detained by the Jiang regime on
groundless charge, practitioners from San Antonio, Texas held a series of truth
clarification activities before and after the trial.
On March 20 at noon, practitioners set up exhibition boards and banners in
front of city hall and told the passersby about the arrest of US citizen Charles Li by
the Jiang regime on groundless charges. During lunch time, many city government
officials passed the area and saw the truth. Mayor Edward Gaza walked in front
of the exhibition board and greeted practitioners. Practitioners told him that
they would go to the city council to appeal to the city to express concern for Charles
Li's case and he welcomed practitioners to attend the city council meeting.
In the afternoon's city council meeting, a western practitioner exposed the
Jiang regime's show trial against US citizen and Falun Gong practitioner Charles
Li. She pointed out that in the past few years all the "trials" against Falun
Gong practitioners in China have rendered guilty verdicts before the trial.
She said that facing the Jiang regime's persecution, Charles Li was safeguarding the
dignity of the people of the US and the world peacefully and rationally. She called
upon the city council to take measures to condemn the show trial and help Charles Li
return to the US. Her speech won warm applause.
In the evening, practitioners returned to the park in front of the city hall.
They lit candles and sent forth righteous thoughts with practitioners around
the world. Around 9pm, Mayor Edward Gaza showed up at the event. Mr. Gaza said,
"I know about this case. We will try our best to help."
Practitioners will continue to send forth righteous thoughts until Charles Li
safely returns home and all the evil factors in other dimensions are eliminated.

On the evening of March 20, practitioners from Minnesota gathered in front of the
State Capitol to practice and clarify the truth. They called upon the media and
community to be concerned and help rescue US citizen Charles Li who was illegally
detained by Chinese government.
Practitioners braved chilly weather and cold rain to send forth righteous
thought. Minnesota's Asian American Press came to conduct interviews. Posting date: 3/24/2003
