A Falun Gong Practitioner in China Uses Personal Experience to Appeal to the Australian Immigration Department Not to Deport Mr. and Mrs. Wang

The Honorable Mister Ruddock,

I am a 33-year-old Falun Gong practitioner in China. I am sad to hear that Mr. Wang Juntao and his wife's asylum application were rejected and they are facing deportation, because tens of thousands of ordinary Falun Gong practitioners are suffering from brutal persecution and are even tortured to death in China.

Speaking of myself, I worked in a state-operated company before July 20, 1999. I rarely joined the local group practice and group study because of my work; few people knew I was practicing Falun Gong. Through the practice, I gained a healthy body, and understood the true meaning of life. After July 20, one after another practitioners were illegally detained time and again by the local government for speaking a true word of justice for Falun Gong. Some government officials even viciously said: "As long as you practice, we want you dead, and your family broken." Then I was dismissed from my job and illegally "reeducated through forced labor." I have suffered all means of inhuman torture. Our young child died from an accident because we had to leave home to avoid further persecution. My spouse and I can't go home even now.

Moreover, there are many other practitioners who were not well known and have been staying at home in our area. They have not been to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but as long as they still practice Falun Gong, they are detained, tortured, fined and brainwashed to different degrees, some of their homes were seized and not one grain of rice left to them. More than 50 practitioners are still detained in municipal detention centers and mental hospitals so far, and they are all ordinary residents who were forcefully taken away from their beds at night. They have not done any damage to the nation; they only insist that Falun Gong is good.

By looking at the tens of thousands of persecution cases in China, Jiang's regime persecutes anyone who practices Falun Gong. In the situation of Mr. and Mrs. Wang, they may even become a key persecution object. Therefore, I respectfully request you not deport them and help them for humanitarian considerations.

Thank you.

A sincere Falun Gong practitioner in China
