A Retired Couple is Persecuted; the Head of the Politics and Law Committee Calls Out: "We Can Find a Place and Have You Destroyed!"

My husband and I both are retired Dafa practitioners. Since July 20, 1999 we have lost our freedom; our house was searched, properties confiscated, and we were put under surveillance. On January 17, 2000 my husband and I along with over 10 other practitioners were arrested. The police had threatened us, saying that "gathering together is illegal," and detained us in a police station for interrogation.

Afterwards, the police locked up a few practitioners and I into a detention center, and sexually harassed female practitioners. We all suffered various levels of mental persecution, and we were fined 1000 Yuan that they claimed to be "Educational Fees." In the detention center, we were locked in the same cells as the criminals. We had to drink freezing water in the winter, eat stale bread and old vegetables, and take cold showers. The police confiscated all the food we brought there. My family members wanted to see me, but the heads of the police department openly told them to bring some cigarettes and wine before they could see me. Moreover, they were forced to pay for policeman's dining expense. Altogether my family members spent over 5,000 Yuan in order to see me. During the one-month period of which I was detained, I was also asked to pay over 1000 Yuan for transportation fees, food and overtime payment for the police.

In September 2001, my husband and I went to Beijing to appeal. We were arrested on our way there, and each of us was forced to pay 1000 Yuan for transportation fees and 5000 Yuan in fines. Once again I was detained, and severely tortured. The police forced me to write a guarantee statement, but I refused. After one month, my husband and I were again tricked into their trap and were locked up in a brainwashing class located in the mountains. Meanwhile we had 10,000 Yuan extorted from us. A local head of the Politics and Law Committee often called out: "Even though you Falun Gong have over 100 million people, you are still a minority. You will have to give up the practice of Falun Gong even if you are unwilling to. For those stubborn ones, our Party has all kinds of methods to make you succumb. We can find a place and have you destroyed. Our government has made up their mind to eradicate Falun Gong."

Until now, we are still being persecuted. We have neither personal security nor freedom, our phones are tapped, and we are under surveillance by our workplaces and local community office. Our family members are also affected, our children's work was affected, and we are suffering great mental pressure.
