Linghai City TV Station of Liaoning Province, Labels a Non-practitioner's Accidental Burning as a "Self Immolation" In an Attempt to Frame Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) Peng Zhansheng, a 58-year-old male, used to live in Shinan village, Shishan County, Linghai City, Liaoning Province. He had suffered the effects of a stroke for many years. He never practiced Falun Gong. In April 2002, he visited his mother's tomb at the foot of Longtou mountain in Shinan village, Shishan County. While burning paper money for his mother, (a Chinese tradition: people burn imitation paper money for their relatives that have passed away in hopes that they can use it in the other world.) the wind blew the burning paper onto a pile of dry grass nearby, and it caught fire. Peng was handicapped and was unable to get away, so he was badly burned. He was sent to No. 205 hospital in Jinzhou City and died several days later.

Soon after the incident, the Linghai TV station broadcast that Peng Zhansheng burned himself because he practiced Falun Gong. They even put Dafa books on his tomb before filming it.

Under the heavy pressure in mainland China, nobody dares to stand up as a witness and speak the truth. Yet the residents in Shishan County all know that the story was falsely fabricated to frame Falun Gong.
