(Clearwisdom.net) In 1999, before Jiang's regime started to massively persecute Falun Gong, several dozen people practiced Falun Gong exercises together every morning on the campus of Southwest University of Science and Technology in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Including those who practiced at home, nearly one hundred people practiced Falun Gong at the university. Among them were professors and other people of higher teaching positions. There were older ladies who had depended on medicine for over 30 years. Within three months of practicing Falun Gong, their illnesses were totally gone and they experienced physical well-being that they had never experienced before. There was a young female university employee who had been pronounced incurable by modern medicine and had not been able to step out of her home for many years. After practicing Falun Gong, she rapidly regained her health and returned to her job. There are many such examples.

After the persecution started, Dafa practitioners who benefited from practicing Falun Gong went to the public in different ways to validate Dafa and to explain the truth to the people who were lost in the deception of the propaganda. But, Jiang's regime used all kinds of means to persecute Dafa and Dafa practitioners. In such an environment filled with deception, evilness and brutality, some practitioners who stood up and spoke the truth were persecuted. The following are some known examples:

Dafa practitioner Yan Xiaolin was the chairman of the Basic Science Department of the university. In the summer of 2002, he went to Beijing to appeal, to execute a citizen's basic right, to tell the people that Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa, and to appeal to the government to stop persecuting Falun Gong. After he returned, he was removed from his position by the university authorities.

Dafa practitioner Tang Kui was the head of the student administration section. In September 2002, the university found out that she still practiced Dafa and consequently removed her from her position.

Dafa practitioner Mu Ling was a lecturer of the Architecture Engineering Department. In August 2002, she was found visiting Minghui.net (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). The policemen took her computer away and forced her to stand overnight as physical punishment. In November, she went to Beijing to appeal and was detained by the local police for 15 days.

Dafa practitioner Bu Yuhua is a retired university staff member. Because she clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to some farmers near the university, she was detained in the local detention center. Later she was put under house arrest, and was forced to report to the university security department twice a day. In November 2002, when she was buying a ticket on a bus, she found that the driver gave her excessive change. Bu Yuhua returned the excessive money and explained that she practices Dafa, and that Master Li teaches one to be a good person and not to take advantage of others. Because of this she was reported and lost her personal freedom again. After she came back from the detention center, the university security department imposed an even more intense surveillance policy against her. Currently Bu Yuhua has been forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. She cannot return to her home because of the criminal Jiang's persecution policy.

In March of 2001, because Yan Xiaolin and Mu Ling refused to give up practicing Dafa and to recognize the Jiang regime's lies, they were sent to a brainwashing center by the university and the Fucheng district political and security department. They lived in a totally isolated, prison-like environment for 30 days, without any personal freedom. During this period, the personnel of the brainwashing center threatened them with taking their jobs away and sending them to a forced labor camp, and forced them to watch TV shows full of lies and deception. Their citizen's rights to personal freedom and freedom of belief which are guaranteed by the Constitution were utterly violated.

Under the pressure of Jiang's brutal persecution policy, some Dafa practitioners' families, due to their jobs or source of income being threatened by the persecution policy, turned from supporting the practitioners' practice of Dafa to being against it. This is one example of how the families are also the victims of the persecution policy.
