In April 20, 2002, the Nanzhao County Police authorities arrested Dafa practitioners Jin Ying, Wang Xiuyun, Zhang Qingzhong and Du Shuhui for clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to people. They were charged in January 2003.

In the beginning of March 2003, Ms. Dong Huijuan, a handicapped woman in a wheelchair, was arrested by people from the Yudong Police Precinct during the "People's Congress and Political and Consultation Conference."

In February 2003, some officials from the "610 Office" * suddenly broke into Tang Changjing's home and confiscated all of the Dafa books, Dafa materials and other items. Then they took Tang to Wuchang City's Yujiatou brainwashing class. Although Tang Changjing suffered all kinds of brutal tortures in the brainwashing class, he remained steadfast. The officials from the "610 Office" were at the end of their wits and transferred Tang Changjing to a detention center.
[Shandong Province] Lawless Policemen Arrest Dafa Practitioners
On March 1, Dafa practitioners Mr. Gao Zuguo, Mr. Liu Zhenheng, Ms. Wu Fengying, Mr. Chen Junying, Ms. Li Xiuyun (Chen Junying's wife), Ms. Liao Lan and her husband from Guxian Garden, Shandong Province were taken to a local brainwashing class.
At about 4:00 p.m. on March 7, about seven persons suddenly broke into Dafa practitioner Mr. Yu Guizhen's home and tried to take him away. His wife went to stop these lawless police but was pushed aside. Four of them pushed Mr. Yu down quickly, put on handcuffs and shackles, and then took him away. Mr. Yu's whereabouts are unknown.

On February 8, 2003, when Dafa practitioner Wang Jingzhong went to Weichang to clarify the truth of Falun Gong, he was reported and then arrested by persons from the Shijialan Police Precinct in Lincheng County. Now he has been detained at the Xijie Detention Center for over one month.
[Longkou City, Shandong Province] Lawless "610 Office" Officials Arrest Many Dafa Practitioners
Recently, officials from the "610 Office" in Longkou City became more and more rampant. They broke into Dafa practitioners' homes and forced them to sign or press their fingerprints on a ready-made form. Those Dafa practitioners who didn't cooperate with them were sent to brainwashing classes. Dafa practitioners Ms. Yin Shuxian and Ms. Li Yujun were sentenced to forced labor. After they were released, they still insisted on practicing Dafa. Recently, they were again arrested for further persecution. Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Hongyu was taken away from home. Her family tried their best to find out where she is, but her whereabouts are still unknown.

At 11: 00 a.m. on March 9, 2003, a group of policemen arrested practitioner Mr. Liu Quming, his daughter Ms. Liu Hui and another practitioner, Ms. Wang Fengcun, at Liu Quming's home. The policemen removed the anti-thief door and broke into the house to arrest them. The detailed information is under investigation.

On March 13, 2003, someone reported practitioner Ms. Liu Guihong, who was arrested and subsequently sent to a detention center for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials.

On March 3, 2003, when practitioner Zhao Xiaoping was doing housework, Wang Su'e from the Political Security Department led policemen to harass the practitioner. They left because they did not find anything. On the second day, March 4, the police forcibly took him to Xingtai City's brainwashing class for persecution.
Some days earlier, they arrested Mr. Zhong Lu, a physical education teacher at Baixiang Town School, and took him to Xingtai City's brainwashing class as well.

[Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Many Practitioners Arrested
At 12:00 a.m. on February 20, 2003, policemen from the Tumendun Police Precinct in the Qilihe District broke into the house of practitioner Ms. Liang Ailing, a retired employee. The police ransacked her home and arrested her and another practitioner, Ms. Zhang Ping, who was on business in Lanzhou City. The practitioner who stayed at Zhang Ping's home and helped her with housework went missing. Two days later, Zhang Ping's home phone was cut off.
Before she practiced Falun Gong, Liang Ailing's right hand was completely disabled from a work injury; however, Lanzhou City's "610 Office" has not given up persecuting her. Without any logical reason, they often sent her to brainwashing classes. They detained her at the notorious Xiguoyuan Detention Center for seven months, without observing due process of law. The reason for her arrest this time was probably because her phone calls were monitored or she was followed. Hopefully, practitioners will pay attention to safety.

On around February 20, police once again took the over 70-year-old Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Juxiu to the Gongjiawan brainwashing class. Lawless officials were afraid of Dafa practitioners exposing their crimes on the Internet. They staked out Ms. Zhang's home for two weeks to find out the location of a Dafa materials production center, but they found nothing and arrested Ms. Zhang in anger.
[Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp Adopts the "Iron Chair," an Excruciating Method to Torture Dafa Practitioners
Qiqihar City's Forced Labor Camp officials used "iron chairs"* to torture Dafa practitioners. They also prohibited Dafa practitioners from sleeping at all and cuffed their hands and feet to these iron chairs around the clock. The handcuffs cut deep into practitioners' flesh and caused their hands and whole body to become swollen, just after an hour of enduring this excruciating torture.
The "Iron Chair" is made of widely spaced steel bars. The longer one sat on it, the worse it would be for the person's health. In addition, the harm would be an internal injury; nobody could see anything from the outside. Normally, one would be paralyzed after sitting on it for four days. Dafa practitioners suffering from this excruciating torture include:
Mr. Zhu Fuyue from Wangkui County. He was punished to sit on the iron chair for 30 days, from
November 30, 2002 to December 30.
Mr. Liu Rui from Suihua City. He was tortured on the iron chair for seven days
Ms. Zhang Guiqin from Qiqihar City. She was tortured on the iron chair for seven days.
Mr. Xu Yingxin from Qiqihar City. He was tortured on the iron chair for 15 days.
Many other Dafa practitioners with names unknown are suffering from this torture.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Funding the Persecution of the People by Using the People's Hard-earned Money
In May 2002, the Jiang regime allocated 150,000 Yuan to set up Wuchang City's Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Hubei Province. Eighty policemen and collaborators were assigned there to persecute 12 Dafa practitioners.

In the evening of March 7, 2003, director Sun from Lalin Town's Police Department, and also police officers Ma Yanjie, Li Hongyu and Song Liansheng went to practitioners' homes door to door, bringing Master's photo with them. They asked the practitioners whether they were still practicing. Those that replied yes were put into their police car; those who replied no were forced to slander Dafa and step on Master's photo; those who refused to step on the photo were arrested and extorted 2,000 Yuan to 5,000 Yuan. In addition, they also arrested practitioners who had made truth-clarifying materials and fined them over 2,000 Yuan.

On January 8, practitioner Ms. Li Haiyan from Liangdao Street, Wuchang District was arrested and taken to that district's brainwashing class.

At the beginning of March, during the "People's Congress and Political Consultation Conference," Xinhua District's government, the "610 Office" and Police Department in Shijiazhuang City collaborated to set up another brainwashing class. The enforcers went to Falun Gong practitioners' homes door to door and harassed them. They took a number of determined practitioners to the above-named hostel for brainwashing. They had held brainwashing classes there many times. That place has become a concentration camp for persecuting Dafa practitioners.

[Shandong Province] Labor Camps in Shandong Province Trick Dafa Practitioners' Families into Writing "Thank You" Letters
Recently, some labor camps in Shandong Province sent 300 Yuan to each detained practitioner's family and ordered them to write a "thank you" letter to the labor camp. Some family members failed to see the vicious intent behind this scheme and cooperated with the evil. One Dafa practitioner exposed the scam after hearing about it and prevented this from going any further.
[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Police Destroy a Dafa Material Production Center
On September 28, 2001, thugs from the "610 Office" tailed some practitioners. As a result, a Dafa truth clarification materials site in Shijiazhuang City was destroyed. Six Dafa practitioners were brutally beaten and taken away. Several items, including appliances, money, clothes and TV sets were confiscated and the loss was tremendous. These practitioners are still being detained and are not allowed to meet with their families. Practitioner Ms. Lan Qizhi, one of the six, a 30-year-old computer engineer who worked at the China Preservation and Transportation Company - Branch Office - in Shijiazhuang City, is still being detained at the Zhengding Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City.
[Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Police Arrest Dafa practitioner Li Ming from Dianbai County
On March 2, practitioner Mr. Li Ming was arrested when posting Dafa flyers. He has been transferred to Maoming County's Legal Education School. The police used gang members to brutally torture Li Ming. Li Ming has been removed from the school and is in critical danger.
[China] Jiang's Lackeys Insert Dafa-Slandering Lies in School Textbooks
Last year, Jiang's criminal regime organized students to watch Dafa-slandering movies. This year, they inserted Dafa-slandering articles in the new "Thoughts and Morality" textbook. It was heard that similar content also appears in secondary school textbooks.
Dafa-slandering words were found on page 146-148 of Legal Education for the Youth (secondary school version), a book compiled and written by the Propaganda and Education Bureau of the National Propaganda Department, the Propaganda Division of National Judiciary Department, the Basic Education Division from the Department of National Education, and the Central League Party Rights and Interests Bureau.
We must clarify the truth to educators at all schools and prevent the evil from poisoning the minds of young people.
