University Students and Teachers from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, Illegally Sentenced to Heavy Prison Terms Due to Their Belief in Falun Dafa

Han Li, male, is a thirty-four-year-old Ph.D. student at the Department of Photoelectron Technology at the Harbin Industrial University Astronautics Institute. Because he printed and copied Dafa materials and he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, on November 23, 2000, he was illegally arrested and detained at the Fengtai Division of Beijing Public Security Bureau. On December 9, 2000, he was then brought back to Harbin by the Harbin Public Security Bureau and detained at the Daoli Detention Center. On April 10, 2001, he was transferred to Nangang District Detention Center. On October 25, 2001, he was illegally sentenced to fifteen years in jail by the Nangang District Court. On February 27, 2002, he was transferred to Harbin Prison.

Dr. Liu Xiaolong, male, is a thirty-eight-year-old teacher at the Department of Biology in Harbin Normal University. Because he printed and copied Dafa materials and went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Dafa, on November 23, 2000, he was illegally arrested and detained at the Fengtai Division of Beijing Public Security Bureau for a total of sixteen days. All his cash (over 8,000 Yuan), one cellular phone and other items were all withheld and never returned to him or his family. On December 9, 2000, he was brought back to Harbin by the Harbin Public Security Bureau and detained at the Daoli Detention Center. On April 10, 2001, he was transferred to Nangang District Detention Center. On October 25, 2001, he was illegally sentenced to fifteen years in jail by the Nangang District Court. He did not accept the sentence and appealed, but it was unreasonably rejected. On February 27, 2002, he was transferred to Harbin Prison.

Zhang Zidong, male, was a student at the School of Art in Harbin Normal University. He was illegally expelled from the school in 2000 because he went to Beijing to appeal. On November 1, 1999, he was illegally detained at the Nangang Public Security Bureau for fifteen days. On November 10, 2000, because he printed materials explaining the truth about Falun Dafa, he was illegally arrested by the Daowai District Public Security Bureau and detained at the Daowai Detention Center. On October 25, 2001, he was illegally sentenced jail for twelve years by the Nangang District Court. On February 27, 2002, he was transferred to Harbin Prison.

Liu Qingwei, male, is a twenty-five-year-old student at the School of Art in Harbin Normal University. He was illegally expelled from the school in 2000 because he went to Beijing to appeal on December 6, 1999, and was arrested and sent back to his hometown. There he was detained for one month by the Xiangyang Division of Jiamusi Public Security Bureau. Because he printed materials explaining the facts about Falun Dafa, on December 2, 2000, he was illegally arrested by the Daowai District Public Security Bureau and detained at the Daowai Detention Center. On October 25, 2001, he was illegally sentenced into jail for twelve years by the Nangang District Court. On February 27, 2002, he was transferred to Harbin Prison.
