Norway: Alternative Health Exhibition in Haugesund

(Clearwisdom.net) In February 2003, Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in an alternative health exhibition in Haugesund in Norway. Three or four practitioners went there to demonstrate the exercises, and to introduce Falun Gong and expose the persecution in China. About 700 people visited this exhibition during the weekend. A lot of these people visited our table and received information. Some also commented positively on the fact that one can learn and practice Falun Gong free of charge. One person thought it was very good that Falun Gong didn't charge any money and that this made Falun Gong seem pure, in stark contrast to many other forms of alternative things that are commercialized. More than 30 people were interested in an introduction to the Falun Gong exercises in order to learn it, and they wondered if there was a Falun Gong practice site in Haugesund. Some also said that they were interested in helping to start a Falun Gong group in Haugesund. So we will try to arrange a workshop to teach the Falun Gong exercises in April this year.

At the table next to us sat some people from a local chapter of Amnesty International, so we used this chance to tell them about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. We also gave them the English truth-clarifying VCD. They were very happy get the information.

We also used the opportunity to explain the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong and what Falun Gong is to the Chinese people who visited the exhibition. At first the Chinese gentleman said that he could talk with us about anything but Falun Gong even though this was Norway, but we ended up talking to him about Falun Gong for about 15 minutes before we parted ways. The last day at the exhibition, he came to our table and got some information about the lawsuit against Jiang's violation of international human rights concerning Falun Gong.
