be a self cultivation practice designed to improve the mind and body though
exercises and meditation. Supporters say it explores the principles of
Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, taking these as guidance for conduct
and thought; and Whereas, Since its introduction to the general public by Mr.
Li Hongzhi in 1992, it is reported that Falun Dafa has been practiced by more
than 100 million people in over 60 countries worldwide; and Whereas, Falun Dafa supporters say that it transcends
cultural and racial boundaries, resonates the universal truth to the whole
world, and bridges the gap between east and west; and Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners in Oregon offer to share
Falun Dafa's exercises are teaching with their fellow citizens Now, therefore, I, Rob Crake, Mayor of the City of Beaverton,
Oregon, do hereby recognize: Oregon Falun Dafa The Mayor and City Council of the City of Beaverton supports
diversity, tolerance, equality, and mutual understanding among peoples of the
