With Unshakable Faith In Our Teacher and Dafa, I Made Progress in My Cultivation Step by Step

Ever since obtaining the Fa in July 1997, I made up my mind to strive forward
and not miss this rare opportunity that only comes along once throughout the
ages. I went to the square to practice the exercises every day with fellow
practitioners and watched videos of Teacher's lectures. Together we studied the
Fa, practiced the exercises, and participated in many experience sharing
conferences and open forums. On Sundays we went to introduce Falun Dafa to the
public by demonstrating the exercises in public places. As more and more people
learned about Falun Dafa more widely, many more new people came to join us at
the practice site every day. I lived a happy life with joy filling my heart.
After July 20th 1999, I was forced to study the Falun Dafa
teachings only in the security of my home. Because the Jiang regime forced a
blockade on all information and materials related to Falun Dafa, I could no
longer obtain and read Teacher's new articles. However, I believed that Zhuan
Falun is the highest Buddha Fa [law and principles]. It is as Teacher
wrote, "the ultimate Great Fa of the cosmos" ("The Disciples' Magnificence" from
Essentials for Further Advancement II), brought by our Teacher to save
and help us return to our true origin and true self. Everyday I sat down with a
calm mind to read the main text of Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun, reading three
lectures a day, and finishing the book once every three days. I also studied
Teacher's other lectures and reciting Essentials for Further Advancement.
After some time, I obtained some truth clarifying materials from an assistant I
knew in the past (but at the time, I did not really understand the meaning of
clarifying the truth), and then went out together with other fellow
practitioners to pass out the materials. Gradually the more materials that were
given out, the more attachments were produced in my mind, and the less time I
spent on studying the Fa. Soon after the practitioner whom I usually contacted
was arrested by the evil, the channel through which I obtained truth-clarifying
material was cut off. At that moment I felt very sad and heavy in my heart.
Through studying the Fa, and reciting Hong Yin, I realized that my
cultivation state was quite incorrect. Being a true practitioner, a disciple of
our Teacher, how could I not be "Assisting Teacher in his journey in this
world"? [From "Assisting the Fa" in Hong Yin] But I
had no channel through which I could obtain truth clarifying materials, what was
I to do? I bought some sticky poster gum, wrote out the truth clarification
materials by myself and I went out to post them.
One day I went out to post truth-clarifying materials in a nine-story
building. After I returned safely, I found that I had put up seventy-two flyers.
I went out every day and put up at least seventeen or eighteen truth
clarification posters per day. Every time I came back with no problems. Later
on, because of the karma that existed in my body, my legs became very painful,
making it hard for me to walk, which consequently forced me to walk with a limp.
Under this circumstance, posting materials outside was difficult. I had to find
other ways to do it. Waiting for the bus at a bus stop, I met a young man and
talked with him about Falun Gong. What I said let him know more about Falun Gong
and changed the misunderstanding in his mind toward Dafa. I gained some
understanding from this. A little while later I studied Teacher's article
"Rationality" and firmly kept in mind that Teacher taught us to "Validate the Fa
with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and save people
with mercy." I knew I had found a good way to clarify the truth to people --
using my mouth.
Ever since, I went out daily even though I walked very slowly, and
occasionally I took buses and clarified the truth on the buses. I used every
possible chance to clarify the truth to people I met on my way: merchants,
passengers, people waiting for buses, shop assistants, auto mechanics and shoe
repairmen, fortune-tellers, garbage men, university students and other pupils,
men and women, old, young, and middle-aged people... In other words, I was
willing to clarify the truth to every person I came into contact with using
however which way I could. The more I clarified the truth, the better I was able
to do it.
During the time of the "16th Party Congress" and the New Year of
2003, my children tried to persuade me to stay home and not to go out to post
materials for several days because of the severe situation of the persecution. I
remembered that Teacher says in Lecture Six of Zhuan Falun, "As true
practitioners, we should look at issues from a very high level instead of from
the perspective of everyday people" and "As a practitioner, your xinxing level
should be high." I thought, how could the "16th Party Congress" have
anything to do with me? I went out and continued to clarify the truth to people.
The number of people I talked to per day was at the most seventeen to eighteen
and at the least four to five. On average, I clarified the truth to around eight
or nine people per day. Our Teacher says, "However strong the righteous thoughts are,
that's how great the power is. Dafa disciples are truly stepping forward out of
ordinary humanness." ("Also in a few words" from Essentials for Further
Advancement II) Therefore, based on unshakable faith in our Teacher and Dafa,
I stepped forward out of ordinary humanness step by step.
My story is quite a common one among practitioners. I hope it could serve
some reference for other fellow practitioners. In conclusion, let us firmly keep
Teacher's words in our mind: "The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can
destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen
righteous thoughts." ("Drive out interference" from Essentials for Further
Advancement II) Let's study the Fa well and walk every step well on our own
