Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Appeal in Bonn, Calling for the Immediate Release of Ms. Lin Wenrong

On March 1 2003, German Falun Gong practitioners organized a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Consulate in Bonn, calling on the Jiang regime to immediately release German practitioner Ms. Lin Wenrong. Lin was arrested during a visit to China to celebrate Chinese New Year with her relatives. She was due back in Germany on February 17, but Ms. Lin has been detained in Beijing since January 29 2003.

Lin Wenrong, 35, graduated from Wuhan Music College and came to Germany to pursue further studies in April 2002. Based on information from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Lin Wenrong is being detained in a brainwashing class at Xiajiadian Forced Labor Camp in Shiyan City. Meanwhile, practitioners also appealed for another imprisoned German practitioner, Xiong Wei, and held a petition signing activity for both Xiong and Lin. Many passers-by signed the petition to express their support. Each of the practitioners wrote a postcard to Lin, expressing their encouragement and concern.
