Germany: Activities to Rescue our Friends During an Information Day in Hamburg (photos)

On Saturday, Feb 22, 2003, we held an Information Day in the city of Hamburg to appeal for help to secure the release our friends and family in China who have been imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong. On the same day, we also held an Information Day activity in other cities in northern Germany, including Hannover.

We collected many petition signatures to rescue Falun Gong practitioners who are imprisoned in China, including Xiong Wei, who previously studied at Berlin Industrial University. She was sent to a forced labor camp for distributing leaflets about the persecution of Falun Gong in Beijing. We also appealed for our friend, who is unable to renew his passport in Munich because he practices Falun Gong, as well as his imprisoned mother in China. Furthermore, we expressed our concern and collected signatures for the release of Lin Wenrong, a practitioner from D sseldorf. She was arrested in Wuhan while visiting her family during the Spring festival.

Practitioners distributed newspapers revealing the facts about the Jiang regime's persecution, and also demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. The response from the public was very good. Some people came towards us to sign the petition even while we were still preparing the display board. Practitioners talked with many people about Falun Gong and our rescue activities. The atmosphere was harmonious. Some practitioners felt that we should hold such activities every week.
