A Story About Forty Yuan

(Clearwisdom.net) This is a story about a practitioner in his sixties who began practicing Falun Dafa in April 1999 by attending the 9-day lecture series. Shortly after the "Tianjin incident" the Jiang Regime initiated its vicious persecution of Falun Dafa. However, this new practitioner not only continued his cultivation practice, but also took responsibility for distributing Dafa materials to faraway mountain villages. Through bitter winter cold and intense summer heat, he distributed the information either by walking to the villages or by taking a bus. He managed to squeeze the money for this out of his daily living expenses.

He has continued to distribute Dafa materials since 1999, a task that requires constant vigilance to avoid being followed by the police and to make sure that the materials reach their destinations safely. He often does not take time to eat or drink so he can get to the destinations on time. He tells other practitioners how very proud he is to be a Dafa practitioner during the Fa-Rectification period.

Although many mountain villagers began the practice of Falun Dafa before 1999, they did not know what to do after the Jiang Regime started the vicious suppression. He told them, "We should prove that Dafa is good and clarify the truth to others."

Although one village is situated out of the way and getting to it is not easy, the villagers do not escape frequent police harassment. The suppression of Dafa and prosecution of Dafa disciples instilled fear in the minds of the practitioners in the small towns. The practitioner who traveled from town to town led everyone to read Master's lectures:

The practitioners were touched and awoke to the fact that they needed to take action. This is truly the power of Dafa and Master's compassion and endless protection.

Once again the practitioner took Master's lectures, articles from Minghui, and Dafa VCDs to the village. This time the practitioners in the village were very moved by his never-ending efforts. Although their financial situations were far from affluent, several practitioners scraped together forty Yuan [Chinese currency. The average monthly salary for a rural worker in China is about 200 Yuan.], and gave it to the visiting practitioner. They told him that he had done so much for them and they realized all the inconveniences he had gone through and the bus fares he had paid over all the years. The practitioners in the village told him that they felt ashamed because they had begun the practice before him, and yet they weren't as good as he was in applying the teachings in everyday life. He said to them, "All your praises are testing my Xinxing and I will use this money in the most useful manner. Please read and learn Fa more diligently so you'll catch up with others."
