A German Practitioner: My New Understanding of Why We Appeal in front of the UN

(Clearwisdom.net) We have held four large-scale appeals in front of the UN building in Geneva. I asked some practitioners about their thoughts after coming back. Most people thought for a while and said, "I just joined a Fa-conference, practiced the exercises later and shared experiences with foreign practitioners at night."

Whenever we talked about the experience-sharing and the contents of the Fa-conference, many practitioners said that they felt they had moved forward, gained from it, and untied some knots which had not been untied before.

But I think these are not the reasons we went to Geneva. We can hold a Fa Conference, practice the exercises and share experiences in any country. Why did we need to go to Geneva?

I felt that many practitioners treated the annual Geneva trip as a time for sharing information on a large-scale. I understand that in this world, the United Nations is very significant, as it represents a great number of countries that are members. A UN resolution opposing the persecution of Falun Gong would represent so many people in the world. This would be different from a resolution of a country that is approved by only one government.

The old forces also know this point clearly, so although our activities in front of the UN every March have been successful, the process is never smooth. The contests between the righteous and evil in the UN are also intensive.

The truth-clarifying work regarding the UN comes under the name of "clarifying the truth to the governments," but no matter whether it be government work, media work or other types of work, they are all things for Data. They are linked with all practitioners.

I remember in Germany, most practitioners were concerned more about the local Dafa group activities at the beginning of the persecution. At that time, only a few practitioners were engaged in truth-clarifying work to the government. Later, everyone became aware that as representatives of the entire country, the attitude of Germany's government towards Dafa is very important. Thus everyone began to look for politicians in different areas.

I think the change in our behavior was caused by an expansion in our vision and mind. We didn't think that he was a Berlin disciple, I was a Munich disciple and you were a Frankfurt disciple, but instead that we were German disciples. We bore the responsibilities of the Fa-rectification situation in Germany together.

Then if we don't think like this - I'm a German disciple, he is a Swiss disciple, you are a Dutch disciple, etc. - but instead think that we are all European disciples, we will truly form a whole body in Europe. Thus, the government work regarding the EU and UN is naturally our incumbent responsibility.

If we can go further, and see that we are not European disciples, not American disciples, Taiwanese disciples, but Dafa disciples who are undertaking Fa-rectification, then we will understand the obligations that we bear.

Although everyone cannot enter the UN and personally tell the truth to the politicians, all of us should know clearly the responsibilities we bear when we practice exercises in front of the UN. When this is the case, the pure field of righteous thoughts is frightening to the evils.

In fact, it's not enough to only think of this human world. Looking back at the path we have walked down over the long course of history, and the path we've undertaken since Fa-rectification began, we are responsible for everything which is under our level in this immense universe.

Master always tells us that the Fa-rectification disciples' responsibilities are very significant. I think it is important that we truly understand our historic responsibilities.
