(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, Epoch Times Net published a commentary regarding the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, which states it is inevitable for Jiang Zemin to face a lawsuit in US court. The Party officials and Chinese consulate officials in the US were flustered, lobbied and pressured, but the overall situation is that Jiang Zemin cannot cover up his crimes.

The commentary asks the question, "First, has Jiang, who is being sued, committed crimes?" According to moral principles upon which law is based, everyone is equal before the law and people who commit crimes must be held responsible. Victims have the right to sue the perpetrators. If Jiang didn't commit any crimes, he should not be afraid of defending himself in court. Jiang said the lawsuit will hurt US-China relations, but the only reason this veiled threat stands is because Jiang, the defendant, knows he will lose the lawsuit. By asserting pressure, Jiang displays his fearful nature. Asserting pressure is not normal legal procedure; instead, Jiang's action looks like an overseas extension of a commonly seen corrupt attitude in Mainland China, which includes and relies on connections and special relationships.

The United Kingdom, the US and some other free world countries have similar founding principles. With the intent to uphold world peace, they can coordinate their actions when fighting wars and punishing dictators. What does Jiang represent? He represents bloody autocracy and brutality, and he is disqualified from participating in international affairs alongside democratic countries like the US and UK. History has arranged two fundamentally different social systems; it is the opposition and the contrast between freedom and dictatorship. The founding principles entrusted to the US and other free countries, such as protecting human rights and upholding world order, does not in the least resemble Jiang Zemin's autocracy, abuse of power and persecution of good people. We can say that the heavens created the US as a protective mechanism that will eventually end Jiang's brutality and uphold world order.

The commentary asks, "Is the relationship between the US and China the same as the relationship between the US and Jiang?" Of course not. By now, Jiang has already stepped down from the stage of history; his power is gone and he is in a dangerous position. The reason he clings to the post of Chairman of the Military Commission is because he wants to last a couple more days. The newly elected heads of state have their own way of doing things and will not remain Jiang's puppets forever. So it will not be long before Jiang is forced to go to court and face the Chinese people. In fact, even diplomatic immunity reserved for state leaders does not apply to Jiang, so nothing can protect him now; that is why Jiang is nothing. Hu Jintao is the current president of China and Jiang is only the leader of the persecution.

As for the US, upholding its founding principles, human rights principles and its status as a world leader in terms of protecting human rights is where its long-term interest lies. If the US gives up these principles, it would no longer be truly America and would lose its righteous role and status on the world stage. In other words, the reasons the US is what it is, are based on its human rights values and leading role in upholding justice.

Upholding the founding principles and human rights principles of the US is consistent with the long-term interest of the Chinese people.

The people of China are not Jiang's people, and China is not Jiang's private property. Jiang does not represent the Chinese people, nor does he represent China or the future of China. He has committed too many crimes against the Chinese people, so he cannot even represent himself. Truth-Compassion-Tolerance pursued by Falun Gong practitioners is the moral principle and spiritual nature abided by Chinese people of past generations and by countless people in the world. Persecution against this morality and against people who abide by this morality is committing a crime against humanity, a crime against human nature and justice. The long-term interest of the Chinese people is to choose their own way of life in a free environment, with justice, human rights and freedom of belief, and to live by noble moral principles without suffering persecution for living by these principles.

Overall, the lawsuit against Jiang is a battle between a dictatorial system and the spirit of freedom--a battle between the righteous and the evil. Aiding the good and upholding justice will actively contribute to the progress of world peace. In addition, when faced with thousands of facts of abuse and murder, if someone does not agree with punishing the evil, this attitude itself reflects the result of the persecution that his or her conscience has suffered.

Some people fear that US officials will receive unfair treatment if they go to China. This is a legitimate concern, because a dictator is a dictator; he will not act by Western rules of freedom, democracy and justice, so retaliation might take place.

If someone sues Saddam Hussein in the US, would anyone be afraid of retaliation? No. Everyone has recognized the face of terror Hussein represents. If we don't eliminate the evil now, we will conjure potential harm for ourselves and others. Compared to Saddam Hussein, Jiang is a masked face of terror who smiles and sings Chinese opera, but with a vicious nature underneath the mask.
