Dafa Practitioner Tang Yiwen Suffers Excruciating Torture, Causing Both Legs to Become Crippled

(Clearwisdom.net)

Australian citizen Lisa's younger sister, Tang Yiwen, who lives in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province in China, has been illegally detained in the Chatou Female Labor Camp of Guangzhou City since August 29, 2000. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor education without any legal procedure. It is said that because she still firmly believes in Dafa, even in prison, Tang Yiwen is suffering from all kinds of inhuman torture. Her legs have been beaten until they became crippled, and she is being held in isolation.

So far, Yiwen's husband has been prohibited from visiting her for over 6 months. At the end of February this year, Yiwen's father, after going through many channels, got approval to see his daughter only on one occasion. This would be the first time in three years he received permission to see his daughter. During the visit, he found that his daughter's legs were crippled. Asking the cause of her disability, he realized that his daughter would not renounce her belief, so the labor camp had hung her up for a long period of time. Since then, her two legs have been unable to recover. Liang, head of Chatou Female Labor Camp, intimidated Yiwen's family by saying, "Once you leave here, don't you dare talk about this!" The policemen also interrogated Yiwen's husband about why he talked about the persecution by making phone calls to Australia and also made him write a guarantee that he would not tell anyone else. Yiwen's mother went on a ten-hour bus ride from Maoming City to Guangzhou to see her daughter a couple of days ago, but the labor camp refused to let her in. She is still in Guangzhou, hoping to see her daughter. Presently, Tang Yiwen is still in prison.

Ms. Tang Yiwen was born in Maoming City, Guangdong Province in 1967. In 1984, because of excellent academic achievement, she was admitted into the department of Japanese in Beijing's Second Foreign Language Academy. After graduating in 1988, she found a job in Guangzhou. She has worked as a tour-guide, translator, assistant manager, teacher, and so on. She began practicing Falun Dafa in 1998.

After the suppression of Falun Gong started, in March 2000, Yiwen, a beneficiary in mind and body from practicing Falun Gong, like tens of thousands of other Falun Gong practitioners who benefited from Dafa, planned to go to Beijing to say a few fair words for Falun Gong. Two months later, she went to Tiananmen Square of Beijing to peacefully appeal. There she was arrested and beaten by policemen, suffering serious injuries. When the police department forced her husband (a non-practitioner) to retrieve Yiwen, she was on the verge of death.

On August 29 of the same year, the police department took advantage of Yiwen's husband's being out of town. At 10 o'clock at night they claimed to be checking residence permits, and forcefully broke into her home on Hailian Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou City. They took her away and secretly detained her in a labor camp. After much effort, Yiwen's husband finally found out that the police department sentenced Yiwen to 2 years in a labor camp without going through any trials or legal procedures.

Presently, Australian practitioners and her relatives are in the process of appealing to the Australian government to urgently rescue Ms. Tang Yiwen. We hope that no matter where you are, you will do your best to help secure her release.
