Police Brutality in No.3 Forced Labor Camp of Henan Province: Repeatedly Torturing Practitioners with "Tying the Ropes"
(Clearwisdom.net) After this Chinese New Year's Day (February 1st,
2003), the police at the No. 3 Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province have started
another string of frenzied persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Camp
Director Run Zhenye announced at a meeting that this camp's "performance" has
dropped down, so "more effective management tactics" are required. Currently,
they are subjecting the resolute Dafa practitioners to continuous sleep
deprivation, forced labor enforced for 18-20 hours, and severe torture.
Practitioner Mr. Wu Juanqing was tortured with "tying the ropes" ten times,
while another practitioner Mr. Yang was tortured nine times. [The police tie
up the practitioner with a thin rope, circle the rope around his neck, and tie
his hands behind his back. Then the police would use all the force they could
muster to pull the two hands up to the backside of the head and tighten the
rope. The rope becomes tighter and tighter around the body of the practitioner,
and makes it more and more difficult for him to breathe. There are instances
when the rope was tightened enough to break a practitioner's arm.]
Practitioners who went on hunger strikes were cuffed with both hands strung
way up to the horizontal bar in the upper bunker bed. There have been
practitioners on constant hunger strikes to protest the unjust detention and
torture. We appeal to all people with a sense of justice inside China or abroad,
to help rescue these practitioners. We must stop this inhumane persecution of
innocent people in China!
