Crimes of the "610 Office" in Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province: Illegal Abduction and Sentencing

In Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province, the "610 Office" and the police started the persecution against Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. The authorities had practitioners fired from their jobs, illegally arrested them, and extorted money from them. They searched practitioners' homes, and even prohibited sons and daughters from going to college or joining the armed forces. Out of at least three hundred illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners, fifty or more were arrested in 1999, over one hundred sixty in 2000, more than fifty in 2001 and eighty in 2002.

In April 2002, the "610 Office" illegally sentenced eight Falun Gong practitioners, including sixty-eight year old Ms. Liang Guiying, who was given twelve years in prison. Twenty-nine year old Mr. Hua Yushuang was sentenced to ten years. Sixty-one year old Ms. Wang Chunying and fifty-nine year old Ms. Liu Lihua were each given a seven-year sentence. Forty-six year old Ms. Li Yuqin and Ms. Yang Shumei were each sentenced to five years in prison. Forty-six year old Ms. Xie Guihua and her daughter, twenty-one year old Lin Kun, were both given three year sentences.

During the last three years, the authorities have continually sent abducted practitioners to forced labor camps and brainwashing classes. Over one hundred were sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, twenty or more to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp, sixty or more to the brainwashing classes in the Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center, and over a dozen to brainwashing classes in Zhuanghe City.
