More About Dafa Disciple Zhang Jianxun's Death by Torture in the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhang Jianxun was a 64-year-old retired worker from the civil administration bureau of Houliuying Village in Anping County. His retirement wages were 590 yuan a month. Because he legally appealed for Falun Gong at the Appeals Office in Beijing in June 2000, he was taken back to his home county, unjustly detained for twenty days at the Anping Detention Center, and fined 2,000 yuan. After that, his work unit cut off his retirement pay.

After the so-called "Self-Immolation Incident," on February 4, 2001 Zhang Jianxun was forcibly taken to the Anping Brainwashing Class and unjustly detained for twelve days because he refused to write a "guarantee" to give up practicing. Several days later, two people from the civil administration bureau, Li and Wang, together with local police once again forcibly took Zhang from his home and sent him to the detention center. Because Zhang was firm in his practice of Falun Dafa, he was unjustly sentenced to one year and sent to the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp on May 17. Zhang was in good health when he left, but he suffered through all kinds of abuse and torture in the labor camp. He was released on bail for medical treatment on July 31. When he came back, people saw that he staggered while walking and two of his left toenails had fallen off. There was a purple blister under his right thumbnail and he was in a state of trauma. He lost control of his bowels and bladder and could not get out of bed for two days after his release. He could not eat by himself or speak before he died from this injustice on June 13, 2002.
