Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners Angers Family Members in Enping City, Guangdong Province

We are Falun Gong practitioners' family members who have witnessed the persecution of our loved ones by the Enping City "610 Office,"* the Political and Judiciary Committee, Section No.1 of the Police Department, and the town police stations. Citizens should enjoy the rights of basic living, and the freedom of belief and expression. However, these people have wantonly taken away these basic human rights from us and have inflicted great damage to Falun Gong practitioners and their family members. This has also caused an extremely bad effect on society. We therefore expose the barbarous acts of the criminal officials in Enping City.

Before the 16^th National People's Congress, these lawless people came to fiercely knock on the door of my home. If we had not opened the door, they would have hurt our other family members. They coerced us into opening the door by resorting to both hard and soft tactics. They forcibly kidnapped my family members and put them in a jail that was illegally and privately established by the Party School. Many vicious policemen were assigned to closely watch my family members, even when they went to the toilet. My family members had totally lost their freedom. They were tortured mentally and physically in that vicious environment for 14 days.

The criminal officials, under the pretence of suppressing Falun Gong, tried to capitalize on this opportunity to get promotions and become rich. They took the opportunity to squander the public's money for pleasure-seeking. They even extorted Falun Gong practitioners' employers and family members of money to line their own pockets. After we, the family members of the practitioners, saw what was happening, we initially decided to endure the ordeal and go through this passively. However, these evil people were insatiable as they, for no reason, kidnapped our family members and harassed our entire families. This has instead awakened us.

What astonished us was that they even kidnapped a two-year old girl while kidnapping the practitioners. They scared the little girl badly. Seeing this, people were very angry; everyone denounced the inhuman acts of the police and the cruelty of the Party.

The police knew clearly that what they did constituted criminal acts. As the practitioners were abducted, the police deceived the practitioners' family members by saying they would hold a forum for the practitioners, where they would have heart-to-heart talks while drinking tea. Once the practitioners went there, they were detained for over ten days.

During the "Two Conferences" (i.e., the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), they again tapped the practitioners' phone lines, monitored their homes and workplaces, and restricted their basic human freedoms. This has caused great damage to the practitioners' families. People openly commented, "The police do not punish corrupt officials. No one cares for the unemployed workers. There is no hope for poor families. The police, however, squander public money and resources to bully kind people." Some people angrily reprimanded the police.

We have witnessed the goodness that our family members have enjoyed through Falun Gong practice, as well as the viciousness of this persecution. We cherish the wellness of our families. We appeal to people to help stop the persecution of our family members. When China becomes a law-abiding country, the criminals will be brought to justice.
