(Clearwisdom.net) In Changping District of Beijing, police departments, police stations, and national security departments, in collusion with the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], harass and persecute Falun Gong practitioners and their innocent family members. We are disclosing some of their activities below:
Case 1
In late 2002, the Liujie Police Station in Changping District illegally arrested three Dafa practitioners (Chen Shulan, her seventy year old mother and her daughter, a primary school student). Their family property was confiscated, including 60,000 Yuan in cash [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China] that Chen's mother had saved up for her son's marriage. Chen Shulan's entire family of seven all practice Dafa. One of her brothers was tortured to death because he was steadfast in cultivating Dafa. Another brother became mentally disordered due to torture. Her father and sister, Chen Hongping, were illegally detained in 2001 and have not been released yet. Now, the whereabouts of Chen Shulan, her mother and daughter are unknown. A Dafa practitioner had seen them in a brainwashing class last year. At that time both Chen and her mother were on hunger strike to protest against the persecution.
Case 2
On February 28, 2003, around 7 p.m., the Liujie Police Station in Changping District joined forces with the national security department personnel and barged into Cui Xiangjun's (he had already become homeless to avoid being persecuted) house. They forcibly detained his wife Li Mingxia, a Dafa practitioner, and his sister (a family member of a Dafa practitioner). His sixty-year-old mother and child (under ten years old) were left alone at home. Moreover, the police kept coming to their house to harass them and compel the older woman and child to reveal Cui Xiangjun's whereabouts. So far, Li is still detained in a brainwashing center.
Case 3
Just after the Sixteenth National Party's Congress, the Liujie Police Station in Changping District colluded with Xiguan Residents Committee and tricked Yang Jinju into going to the resident committee center, and then sent her to the brainwashing center. She has not been released up to today. Later, the police station illegally ransacked her residence and confiscated her property. During the detention period, they threatened and forced her son to go to the brainwashing center to urge her to renounce her belief.
Case 4
On March 20, 2003, police officers of the Songyuan Police Station in Changping District arrested Dafa practitioner Yang Binghai on the streets. Following that, they also took his son, who was a secondary school student, to the police station. A few days later, the police went to the Changping No. 1 Secondary School the boy attended in order to harass and threaten him. They affected the school's regular routine of education and learning. This resulted in the child being unable to concentrate on his studies and he became mentally traumatized. As of today, Yang Binghai is still being detained in the brainwashing center.
